Fenro grabs onto the fleeing man and holds him fast as he struggles.

(There were two up by you. Fenro has one, the other is still on the run.)

Seeing Fenro charge after the man, Oryxis charges after the pair, arriving just as Fenro grapples the man, and taking a mighty swing at one of his legs.

The man twists and wriggles until he's free of Fenro's grasp. The two of them run to the door of the tent. The first man gets a chunk taken from his leg by Oryxis as he goes but keeps running. As they reach the entrance a large figure steps in.

All of you can see a goliath, wearing bright gold armor with a crown emblazoned on the front. He holds a massive greatsword in one hand which he swings, cutting the two men clean in half. He looks around the room before moving towards the Æthling. "M'lady, are you alright?" 

(Combat over)

"That....may have been the most horrid display I have ever seen. Here I was concerned when I had burst that other man's torso, which was awful enough, but then this happens. My good Lady, you do keep some.....unique company."

As Aramae approaches her, he stops about 20ft so the two do not have to shout across the room to communicate but also far enough so as not to worry her guards who are likely already on edge enough.

"Ah, my manners leave me temporarily. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Aramae, and the other Tabaxi you have seen is my friend Edgar. The two of us are from the Aurelius Trading company, and hope we can be of service to you."

Aramae then gives a brief but polite bow to her.

 Aramae, if you could make a history check for me please.

Looking at the armor something comes up in your mind. This is no Meer bodyguard, this is a Crown, one of the personal guards of the High Queen. They're taken and trained early on in their lives and are supposedly the best warriors in the Kingdoms. There are only 100 of them at any one time.

They occasionally make appearances at events throughout the Kingdoms and you can gather that this event must have been important enough for one to appear.

"One of the Crown? Here? Edgar, give this fine woman that bottle of wine as compensation for her viewing of this wonderful competition being utterly ruined. She deserves it far more than either of us. Hand it to her guardsmen, as I highly doubt they will allow us to approach and pass it along directly. May Tisus show you a finer day on the morrow, my lady."

Aramae once again bows politely, a bit longer this time.

Lyrika sheaths her grandpa's rapier and approaches the others, looking at the Crown a little nervously. "Do you have any idea what all that was about?" she asks. "Because none of the singers was bad enough to merit that sort of audience reaction."

The Crown helps the lady to her feet and looks over her wounds before responding. "I think it's quite clear that what you all just helped to stop was an assassination attempt. It seems that these fellows took advantage of the guards being drawn away by a hobgoblin attack on walls of the city. I will allow you to approach Lady Avena if you can offer some sort of healing but I do not think that wine will help her wounds." 

As he says this the Æthling waves him away and places a hand on her own chest. A pulse of green light seems to flow from it and her wounds close a bit. "Thank you Captain but that level of cautiousness won't be necessary. I can take care of myself and these folks jumped in without a second thought when they saw I was being attacked. I believe we can safely say they are on our side." 

"I admit, restorative magics are not among my specialties. It is good that your wounds were minimal. Might I ask why someone would wish to see you killed?"

Would Edgar know that his mind was messed with by the count? 

Edgar had been looting the corpses until now but raises his head when his name is mentioned. He will have taken all the gold from the bodies as well as the identifications if there are any and the band around their arms. (How much did he find in total? Or was it just the one?) He then proceed to go over to Ara and hand over the bands to the guards. 

“Found those bound on their arms.” He say and keep his eyes low, not wanting to draw the attention of the authorities. 

Edgar finds 20 gold total and four bands, one for each of the attackers. None of them have any identification (that's not a common thing during D&D times). 

(You would know some sort of magic has been used on you. Feel free to roll an arcana check to see how much more you could figure out)

Edgar shakes his head and turn to Aramae “I think the count messed with my head Ara.. I was tailing him as I was supposed to do, bu then I got this thought in my head that I had to come and help you no matter and what as fast as I could.” He looks a bit ashamed. “I knew you were more then capable to take care of things but I just knew I had to help you and so I abandoned my assignment.. I’m sorry..” 

Fenro approaches the Æthling and her guards. "M'Lady. I have some ability in healing, when the spirits heed my call. I tried calling on them in the midst of the battle to help you,  Though, if you are still in need, I can seek their help again." As he approaches Lady Avena, he looks at the sword in his hand, a little surprised that it was still there, and drops it on the ground. "My name is Fenro. I am visiting from the southern jungles."

(Edgar would know that the Count cast a spell that compelled him to come back but did little else.)

The Æthling looks at Fenro. "I believe I will be alright, thank you for what you have done already." 

At this point the Captain speaks up. "I believe that it's best that you all come with me back to the the keep. We can take stock of things there and make sure that the Lady is in a safer place." 

Aramae, your roll earlier would also let you remember that the Captain is the leader of the Crowns. In order to become the leader he had to beat all of the other Crowns in single combat. This means that he is likely the best fighter in the Kingdoms. He is also a personal advisor of the High Queen.
