Dib crouches in his hiding place, squirreled away underneath one of the couches at the far end of the room. As Usul takes over his senses, he sees two figures in the room, carefully working away at the padlocks on the crates with lockpicks. Peering through the windows on the first and second floors that face the street, Sylnora wouldn't see any movement in the dark home.
((I'd rather Usul was invisible anyway. Moving quietly is one thing. But being unseeable opens a lot of doors for you I think.))
'It's too dark for me to see anything from here.' Syl sends a message quickly to Kal before pinging Usul again. 'Do you want to check the back door? I can hold down things here.'
The rest of the party takes turns peeking around the corner of an alley a fair distance away to sight on the house. Though his special vision makes the darkness irrelevant to him, Silthras still isn't able to pick out much movement. There's a brief flash of a dark tunic in the corner of a window on the first floor, but its gone just as quickly as it appeared, moving out of view.
Kal nods, forwarding the message to Sylnora telepathically the next time she speaks in his mind. "I suppose we just need to wait for them to come out now."
@DM: Is it overcast? What phase of the moon is it? And is the moon up? I am wondering if flying 100' up would be noticeable to those on the ground? I'm having trouble imagining how stealth applies if one is outlined against bright backlit clouds, for example...ie. NOWHERE to hide!

Staying silent and invisible, Usul whispers back, "They're trying to get into the crates we saw. I gotta get in to Dib." He then proceeds to walk around checking the doors or windows to see if he can spot how they got in. If he finds it he'll go in as well, and if not will attempt to quietly pick a lock and begin heading towards the room where he'd seen them.
As a note for Usul, Syl is using her Psi Crystal based telepathy. You don't have to whisper to her, she's in your head. ;)
Usul quickly makes his way around the building, very quietly testing all of the doors and windows to see if they're unlocked. Not a single one budges. Which makes sense to you - if you were breaking into a home, you'd also lock the entrance behind you. These people clearly aren't amateurs. You begin to look for your own entry point...
I need to know which door/window you're trying to go through
I need to know which door/window you're trying to go through
Having gone through the house before, Usul figures that the bathroom (4) would be the least likely place for the thieves to be, so will try to enter the house there. Again, popping into Dib really quickly just to see if they are still in that room. Also, listening to the bathroom window for a second ((11)) in the odd chances that someone had a bowel emergency.
Velyra looks at the broom, and shrugs. "Could be worth it. It's late, so I suppose the only people out and about will be drunks and city guard. I doubt they look up that often."
Silthras nods, "Let Syl know I'll be above the house if she wants to include me in the relay."
He moves quietly into the back of an alley as far away from windows as he can, then rises to approximately 100' before moving to float above the house.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Silthras rises and circles above the house, his cloak flapping behind him. He slows a little as he hears the noise it makes. It is hard to ignore the exhilaration of flying so high and so fast, but he tries to stick to his task. He watches intently, looking for signs of movement at the house or nearby...especially signs of other watchers. If we are going to do much of this, I really need to learn message, he thinks. He also looks around for signs of Usul and Sylnora, in case he needs to approach them directly for some reason.
As he flies he takes in the town more broadly; though he can only see by the occasional pools of light in the distance, flying affords him the view, literally, that his maps always try to portray. How much easier some of his earlier work might have been, had he been able to fly!
Perception: 17 (passive 18/13, that roll is 6 without advantage)
He takes some comfort in the fact that he can see no sign of either of them, though the excitement and the wind in his eyes both have a price.
(( I'm assuming Sylnora at least achieved 13 on Stealth... ))
Usul slides his tools in between the window panes, deftly and quietly flipping the latch so it can be opened. He opens the window and slips inside. As expected, the room is empty and the door is closed. Slowly cracking open the next door, he peers through to see no one in the next room, quietly slipping through the smallest gap possible and closing the bathroom door behind him. Already familiar with the layout, he moves to the stairs next.
The doors to (6) and (7) are closed, but (8) is cracked and (9) is fully open. Taking a quick peek into room (9), he sees there are actually three people in here, the third working on one of the crates in the southeast corner outside of Dib's view. Another works immediately to your left in the northeast corner, while the last works near the circular rug to the right(your right, left on the map) of the bookcase Dib hides underneath.
Careful to avoid detection as he rises, Silthras mounts his broom and takes to the sky. As he hovers above the house, he doesn't really see any movement in their immediate area. He can see Kal and Velyra below. Usul and Syl, both invisible, are completely hidden from his sight. He doesn't spot any lookouts, but the view does afford him a greater sight of the city. While his special vision runs out at a certain point, he can still make out a few bobbing points of light from torches moving through the streets around them. (More than 1000 ft away).
((just to be clear. they're all working on opening a different crate yes?))
For now, curious about what these people are hoping to find in the crates, Usul simply stayed quiet in a corner watching. Though he also sends a mental message to Syl saying, "We've got eyes on them. There are three here. They're all opening the big crates we saw earlier."

'Usul is inside now, there's at least three in there. Trying to get into some of the crates that are locked down.' Sylnora says in her message to Kal. She takes another look around the area, making sure they're still the only ones out here.
Hopefully they make it quick. I hate waiting around like this. Kal's eyes briefly go upward, trying to spot their airborne friend. Also Silthras isn't with us anymore. He went into the air, so if you need to tell us something important you'll have to tell him separately.
The three thieves wear black cloth scraps wrapped around their faces as improvised masks, and although you can't tell their exact age, they look scrawny and young. Perhaps your age or a bit younger. They work diligently to get into the crates - but as you might have noticed when you first checked them out, the padlocks on those things are mighty. Five minutes go by before you a couple of soft clicks and a relieved sigh from the other side of the room. Two more quickly follow, and you can see them begin to take stuff out and put them into these satchel bags they carry. From Usul's vantage point, he can just briefly catch a glimpse of something that looks like broken clay pottery go into the bag of one thief closest to him. Funnily enough, the bags don't seem to bulge as they put items in them.
As they move on to the next set of crates, you hear footsteps from down the hall and two more figures emerge, carrying satchels themselves. "Downstairs is done yeah. What we got left?" You hear a boy's voice ask. One of the figures that was already in the room points out the unopened crates, and the two new additions go to work.
Ignore this for now. We've got Usul things to do
It takes them about five minutes to go through the remaining crates, emptying their contents into the bags at their sides. The same boy that spoke earlier lets out a light whistle. "Alrigh', that's it. Let's go." All five of them leave the room, walking right past you without the barest hint you're there. You hear their footsteps recede back down the hall, and then down the stairs.
Syl has the eyesight of a worm, and sees nothing in front. doesn't notice any movement out front, and she certainly didn''t notice Silthras as he ascended on his broom.
