"Yeah... It'll take days to explore all of this..." Usul says, sharing Sil's disappointment as Dib hops back over to his shoulder. "Think we could learn about the tunnels from anyone?"
'They stole some stuff from an archaeology dig. Followed them to a safehouse. Found a tunnel system underneath the city. Know it?' Velyra uses the sending stone to send the message, telling the others when she gets a response.
There is a bit longer of a delay than normal, then Kaz's voice comes through. 'Long night? Tunnels are unknown. Go about your day as normal tomorrow. We'll find you when ready to meet.'
As the weasel familiar crawls back onto Usul's shoulder, he begins to squeak excitedly, hairs raising and nose wrinkling as his beady eyes stare into the darkness of the tunnel you originally came from.
As an aside for Silthras, this outer path is a smooth curve. The intersecting tunnels like the one you came from are straight. So far you have three. One where you came from, and then one on each side about a mile out.
When the little weasel begins to freak out, Syl peers into the darkness of the tunnel. "Should have expected something to be lurking down here..." She mutters quietly, straining her eyes to see in the dim light.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Silthras stares back toward the distant tunnel, shrinking back against the wall. He whisps to his companions, "Somthing has him upset. Any idea what it is, Usul?"

Are the two intersecting T-junction tunnels also curved?
Looking down the tunnel, you can see a bit of movement against the shadowy grayscale that your dark vision grants. It's difficult to say how far exactly, but perhaps over 300 feet away. You can make out a lumbering form coming towards your direction, and two smaller figures flanking it. They aren't moving particularly fast, but they are still coming your way.

You have this one slightly curved tunnel you're in right now.
Then there's the tunnel you just came from, which is straight. It forms the | part of a T with this curved tunnel.
There are two other tunnels like it that Usul found. They are also straight.
"I think it's something big." Syl says, slowly moving back around the corner so it won't see her when it gets close enough. "And also blocking our way home. After that weird knight and the traps, we should have guessed they would have things patrolling down here."
"Maybe we can surprise them as they reach this intersection? Hide around the corners until they get close?"
"I hate being underground." Kal says, moving off to the side as well. He extinguishes the Driftglobe as a precaution. "I think we have to go through them. If we try and run to find another way out, we run the risk of running into another patrol and getting pincered. Trying an ambush here is a good a plan as any." If they decide to stay and fight he places Driftglobe on the far wall of the intersection(such that if it were lit, it would light up all three tunnels).
Silthras nods, "Assuming they are our enemy...which, I admit, does seem likely. We have to assume anything down he is unlikely to be friendly."
"But this could be like the ruins...they could just be something left over from the past. And they may walk the other way." He sighs, "Unlikely, though."
"So...shoot first, ask questions later? And if the two small ones are children?" The last adressed to Kal had expressed reservations earlier.
Silthras would be peering around the corner at either E10 or I14, trying to keep cover. The specific choice would be based on where the rest of the group are. Once he gets a better view he will rapidly fly/move back to the group and let them know what he has seen.
(( If we plan to ambush we might want to be on both sides??? ))
Kal is going to want to be as close to the corner as possible so he can get into melee quickly. So also either E10 or I14, whichever Silthras doesn't take.
((Flanking ambush sounds good to me, let's do it.))

"Good question." He nods once and turns to Velyra, "Do you think our new best friend might know anything? Perhaps...send him a message?"

Silthras' grip tightens on the broom. He was about to put it away, but reconsiders as he stares intently into the gloom.
"I hate being underground." Kal says, moving off to the side as well. He extinguishes the Driftglobe as a precaution. "I think we have to go through them. "Don't hurt the kids unless you absolutely have to. If we take down whatever is with them, they might lose their courage."
Silthras looks non-plussed, "A blade in the hands of a child is still a blade -- we can always patch them up afterwards. But big-thing first, then."
He activates the broom, ready to keep his distance after he catches a good view of them.
(( Waiting until they are within 120' to assess and describe what he sees ))
Are you standing out in the open or waiting around the corner?

Actually. Here. You can look at this and tell me where you're all at lol.
