Best tries to walk through the pink transparent wall but collides with it. However, he and Katharine do see the room behind the wall. They see that there is an exit to the north and south. However, on the floor of the room, behind the wall, they see two blue glowing glyphs on the floor.

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Nephris wanders over as Best and Katherine stand at the pinkish wall, looking over their shoulders at the glyphs. "Maybe if we dispel them? I can give it a go, unless someone has any other ideas?"
"I could create a wall of stone, and place it around the children." Cade mentions. "Then, if the trap is sprung, the kids will be safely protected from the gas." He looks to the others for thoughts. Assuming he can make it into more of a dome or something... Also, how many kids are we talking about? are they all in the same cell? If a spellcaster with Tiny Hut could misty step into the cell, that would be another option for protecting them while we get the cell door open.
Best looks at Cade "I'm completely out of ideas. I don't have Tiny Hut but I can Misty Step into the cell and look around. Of course you can become air and look around as well." He looks at Nephris "Let's look around inside the cells if we can then we can think about trying to dispel those glyphs."
As soon as Best misty steps into the cell, the children within it disappear before your very eyes. There are no sign of any children having been in the cell. It seems like the children were never here, if they were ever real in the first place.
Suddenly, you the voice of Dresden booming around the cells.
"I guess you're more clever than I thought you were. No matter! I'll find another way to defeat you!"

Nephris shakes his head, "Not entirely. Would be worse if we had spent time and effort to free them. But we've learnt more about our host. He very much loves the art of deception and hiding tricks and traps in everyday and innocuous items. Something for us to keep in mind."
With the realisation that the children were not real, you find yourselves alone down in this damp dungeon. The only thing left would be to figure out where all of the belongings that Dresden has stolen are.

(What are we dealing with in this cell area? I don't think most of us have a clue as to what options are available at this point. Can we get some details on what is around that we can investigate more? I believe there is some sort of door, but that has not been described overly much. Are there other exits from this area?)
(You are in a dungeon in the middle passageway. There are five different cells with locked doors, and a pink wall. You either investigate the wall or head back upstairs.)

Katharine studies the barred door that Best is trapped behind, "I'm not even sure that this is a real door, or maybe it just doesn't open. Maybe that's the real trap? Think about it. The children were never real, there was probably no trap for the children. But these arcane runes must do something. Perhaps this was more than just a distraction, but it was designed to cause us to waste our magic?
On the other hand, maybe opening the door sets off the trap. Like an explosion?
So you might be on your own. Though I could open a gateway but that would be a waste, unless it gave us some other benefit."

Katharine turns away from the children, "Maybe we have to defeat Dresden to get the kids out of there? Maybe that will stop the magic?"
After a moment she checks out the pink wall after Best points it out
Best will walk through the pink transparent wall.

Nephris nods to Best, "Just be careful."
Best will misty step into the largest (or closest if they are all the same size) cell and begin looking around: perception 25 + 2 with guidance
