"I see... That simplifies things greatly. I should grab a knife or maybe two." Vadania is going to go and grab a silver knife, dropping a gear slot to accommodate
Sulskan picks up the gear slot when Vadania drops it and puts it in his own backpack to replace the rations that he fed to the dogs. He then turns to the rest of the group, "We ready to head out?"
Limine nods. "I'm not sure I understand this silvered weapons problem, but I'm hoping I won't need to use any regardless. After all, I carry my weapons mostly for show. Did you ever really see anyone fight with a boomerang? Thing's a nice trick but isn't truly great if you need to take your enemy down before they take your head. Ready when you are."
"I'm ready. Let's go either save this guy/thing, or kill it/him." Slurb says.

Sulskan nods to the Sergeant and heads outside to where Jack found the trail. He bends down to take a closer look and see if he can identify anything further about the creature that made the trail and attempting to follow it into the forest. He turns around to the rest of the group, "I am pretty good at following tracks, but another pair of eyes wouldn't hurt if someone wanted to help me."
"I shall assist you." Vadania says as she steps forward. She sniffs the ground and the air, trying to use her own brand of lycanthropy to see if she can pick up on the scent of whatever left the trail."
Follows the group back outside, pointing out the tracks and the trail to the edge of the brush, thanking both the Watch and Inquisitors for their time and access, on his way by.
Sergeant Walsh says his farewells to the party. To Jack, he says, "The Captain is going crazy over this case. If you happen to find anything out there, tell us. We can provide any support, as needed."
Following the tracks behind the house is easy, almost too easy. Vadania's acute sense of smell lets her pick up a strange, pungent along trail. It's not anything she's smelled before, but the stench is horrible and unnatural.
Sulskan notes that the tracks are quite similar to the bloody footprints back in the house.
The tracks head deep into the Corrupted Forest, and it becomes quite a slog to head through the prickly shurbs and thick foilage. Not only that, the morning provides a first for the season, as a light snow begins to fall. Winter is quickly descending upon Alycron.
While following the trail, the party notices a broken boot among some tall grasses. It's snagged onto a fallen log, and appears to be the same size as the ones Limine found back in Rutherford's house.

Limine nods quietly. The cold weather affects her as she trembles in her thin clothes. Suddenly, she just wants to get it over with. "Let's move on. I wish to finish this and buy cold-weather clothes before I frrreezze to death."
Vadania's thick fur and her jacket helped to some extent to keep the cold away. Still, she would not like to stay out in the snow for too long. She looks up at the sky and a snowflake falls on her nose. She twitches the snout to shake the flake off. She says, "Agreed. Does the shoe give us any further insight in to our current prey?"
Sulskan shakes his head, unable to determine much from the tracks, although he does share what he learned with the group. "The tracks appear to be the same as the ones in the house... This all points to the Farmer being cursed with some form of Lycanthropy or another disease. We should probably follow the tracks before the trail goes cold."

Knowing something is up, Vadania does exactly that- look up. The ancient, twisting trees of the forest blocks out much of the weak sunlight, but she notices a few signs among the canopy. A half-ripped leaf, a snapped branch...the tell-tale signs that something large has climbed and traversed the trees. Not only that, the trail above can still be followed, if she so chooses.
Slurb eventually comes to the same conclusion, noticing a few bits of bark broken off a nearby tree.
Jack moves to gingerly pick the boot lying in the tall grass, when he hears a loud click! There's a flash of metal as a rusty beartrap springs out of the grass, enclosing around his arm!
(@Jack. Make a DC 13 DEX Save with advantage because you mentioned you were carefully picking up the boot in your post)
