//I’m not wild about the “preping” of instantaneous spells. It strikes me as a binary choice cast it or not. Especially since it doesn’t have a preparation requirement like it would if you were playing a wizard. Casting would have set everything off with Virgil earlier but that was not Lyn’s intention. If it had been, I suspect you would have had her attack with something more powerful like a Melee strike.//
(Lyn is fiery and typically eager to fight, but far from foolish (I think). A newcomer with drinks, arms, and armor in the wilderness seems foolish, but may not be out of the ordinary, but considering everything, caution is always advisable. I suppose the idea of preparing single-action spells/cantrips is a bit grey since it never specifies anything other than 1 Action within a round theoretically 6 seconds long. With so many people acting in a short span, there's probably not much difference between a lvl 3 lightning bolt and a cantrip fire bolt.)

Considering that Virgil is getting a round of attacks before initiative order starts (and might end up at the top of the list), maybe Lyn should have her prepared action go off, after Virgil's attacks but also before the initiative order starts. Won't save Kaemar from the belly wound, but might make a difference for Virgil's next attack.

(Agreed. The intent of Virgil is definitely more immediate than Lyn. Virgil can looking for a fight, Lyn was just making ready. If Lyn jumped right in with an icy hand out and ready to freeze Virgil's face, it would be a different story.)

Merrick still needs to roll initiative but I think he said he was going to be out for a bit. I'll roll it here and we can adjust anything when he gets back. (Though seeing as it's all the same roller we should talk about just having me run group initiatives when needed with your modifiers appropriately in place.)
(That's what you get for trying to ambush us! I suppose if you look at it from different perspective, there was no surprise round due to Louis' Insight check and Virgil is actually at the top of initiative :P)

Neega is attacking normally with her longsword. (If this guy is to be interrogated, better to hope he can be patched up after he is knocked down, rather than risk another serious wound like the one on her arm.) Current hp: 5/11
Attack: 25 Damage: 5 slashing (Edit: Damn bleeding is making the sword handle slippery!)

Virgil pulls the bottle out of Neega's reach. "Easy girl, just gotta ask if you want some. Little slow after running all night, huh?"
Beat
"Ah, shit. I guess me too, huh?"
Virgil throws the bottle at Neega. Draws a dagger and throws at Kaemar. Draws his scimitar and strikes at Neega.
Dagger Attack: 6 Damage: 6
Scimitar Attack: 12 Damage: 9
The dagger sticks in Kaemar's stomach. The scimitar slashes Neega's arm.

Hopefully the prepped spell saves Kaemar from stomach pain.
Neegalum doesn't drink much, so that arm slash is probably a warning not to reach for bottles.
Initiative: 6 (Edit: After the busy day, guess it makes sense that Neega and Lyn are further down the combat order.)

Well, in a hilarious turn of events, everyone goes before Virgil.
Kaemar, Merrick, Louis, Lyn, Neega, Virgil. (I'll make a Merrick move at the end of the round before Virgil if he's not back.)
Kaemar's spell hits slamming into Virgil's chest "Ahhhhh, the next one goes in those hands girl!"
Louis is up.
