Orog utters a primal scream and summon's his remaining strength to attack Lyn and then spin around to attack Neega.
Attack on Lyn: 23 Damage: 9
Attack on Neega: 15 Damage: 10
(I'm rolling the attack on Neega with Disadvantage because of protection but I could use some clarification. Is it protection on people Lyn is standing near or protection for anyone the affected target attacks?)
(I honestly was worried that this guy was going to be too much but these rolls are ridiculous. Going to have to step up the difficulty in the coming fights.)
Kaemar looks at the tightly packed mob of fighters in front of her hoping she won't miss her mark this time. She calls forth another fire bolt and hurls it into the mix hoping to finish the wounded beast.
(PROTECTION When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you. you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield.)
(So if I'm standing within 5 feet of an enemy, I'm essentially holding their attention or actively trying to interfere with their attacks when they try to attack someone else.)
(15 scimtar attack against Orog. 3 damage on hit. If Orog attacked Neega last, is he facing her now? If so, advantage for flanking on this attack: 10)
Fading, uncontrolled rage falls short against Lyn's calculating mind. Orog's swing goes wild and Lynistra presses the advantage following the attack on Neega. Aiming for a gap at the neck, Lyn tries to end Orog once and for all.

// I wouldn't worry about that. We (and in particularly me) are rolling well, and you've been having some bad rolls. The fight should be going well. If you had my rolls, and I had yours, then we'd still have +1 or +2 orcs to deal with, and -1 or -2 party members to deal with it. Then we'd be complaining that these guys were too much! :-)
// I wasn't using flanking advantage, because I thought that went away in 5e (not in the Basic rules or the PHB). But now I'm reading that is an optional rule in the DMG? I searched this thread, and it wasn't specifically mentioned. Maybe people are still thinking about 3.5 edition? Since the guy attacked Neega and Lyn, I'll assume that neither of us is currently flanking, but that Louis can.
Neega is hoping that her adrenaline rush (ie. lucky rolls) will make it to the end of combat. (Edit: Nope!)

"Well now, that went pretty all right, I would say so myself!" says Merrick happily, hopping down from his hiding place to join the others. "None of you seem to much the worse for wear. Did you see the size of that guy? I thought for sure we'd see some broken arms at least. Or a caved in skull. Those really hurt. Anyways, anything interesting here?"
Merrick begins to look around for anything on the bodies of interest, as well as any bags or items that would have been on the horses.
Louis stows his hammer and picks up his dropped crossbow, before joining Merrick's search the bodies, particularly if any of the orog's equipment would be an upgrade to his own (after possible mending and re-fitting, depending on what it is). Remarking, "It's a dirty business, searching bodies like this," as he digs in without shame.

On the Orog you find a +1 Greataxe, plate armor, a javalin, a horn similar to the one Virgil had, an envelop of papers in Orcish with a symbol on the outside, A journal, also in orcish.
The other orca had standard great axes, javelins, and hide armor. There was 200 silver between them.
Around the horses is the sign of a struggle. A path leads south into the woods where something was dragged.
Neega asks for the journal and the papers, which she will translate for the group later.
That magic Greataxe sounds nice, but so does wielding a shield. Anyone else that can/will use it?
"Let's check out what happened to the south."

Louis goes about removing the plate from the orog as quickly as possible, even if it means some on-site surgery (//read cutting straps and whatever else that needs to be cut off in order to get the plate off ASAP, it can be repaired later//) . Looking around noticing the mess, he remarks,
"I know... but plate armor is hard to come by - maybe we can get it mended and and re-fitted. Besides I can carry it, a couple of those javelins and that shiny great axe, but it'll be close to the max I can carry comfortably. I won't be able to carry much else. If someone wants the great axe now, please take it off my hands. We can split the silver later - maybe have Merrick carry it? The halfling has always seemed honest to me."
" Agreed, we should investigate, but let's get off the road."
"Take that clunky armor of you like. I prefer to be quick on my feet instead. The axe is too good for hands like their's, but I'll take my shield and a good cut-and-thrust instead." The scimitar does, however, catch her eye, "Now what do we have here?"
(Could I roll for an arcana check or is this obviously non-magical with a nice handle?)

"Neega, do you read Orc? If you do could you look through the journal, see if you get anything useful from it?"
Kaemar doesn't need any of the equipment and seems quite uninterested in the looting this time.
"Anyone else think Tuugum is going to be pissed that we are totally not sticking to the keep a low profile part of the mission... Oh well at least we are all on one piece."
Neega can read the Orc, but suggests a little later.
She starts heading south where someone/something was dragged away. Looking for anything in the vicinity; if the trail goes on for more than about 100 yards, she will turn back. "Would be a shame if the horseowners were being butchered by an extra orc nearby, while the group is busy stripping plate armor (which could be done later)."
