Making way to the front of the group, Errona starts to investigate the rubble with her darkvision. The majority of the wreckage is of wood and stone, and clear remnants of furniture. She can distinctly make out the location of the fireplace that once stood in a living quarters. Shifting through the debris, she finds a ripped piece of pink cloth and part of a letter that reads:
I love you.
I want to see you.

In addition, she finds a fishing rod.
Fishing Tackle Type: Adventuring Gear Cost: 1 gp Weight: 4 lbs This kit includes a wooden rod, silken line, corkwood bobbers, steel hooks, lead sinkers, velvet lures, and narrow netting.
There is not much else in the area, and it looks as if it has been abandoned for months.
The address to the halfling trapper's house is a short travel away along the docks.
Errona shows the group the note before saying "Hmm with the note and the rod, I think this leads to only one possible option... Sephek is in love with a giant fish!" She takes the rod and casts the hooked line with a bobber out from the dock into the water attempting to catch Sephek's true love.
The adventurers find themselves at the halfling trapper's house after a short walk along the docks. It is now pitch black outside, due to the hours growing later and the majority of the townsmen settling in for the night. The only light that can be seen are in the far distance where guard stations are located.
The entrance to the house is a normal wooden door, secured with a standard key-lock. There are windows on the side, but it is too difficult to see inside due to the darkness and frost on the glass.
Lumen puts his ear up to the home, but does not sense anyone's presence. Errona decides to pick the lock, which opens with a click. She presses her hand delicately on the door, when a23 approaches from behind and shoves the door open with a loud SLAM!
From some distance, the group can see a flicker of light from a lone window.
The group enters the room. Lumen's amulet shines just enough light into the room to reveal a bed with sheets stained of blood, a nightstand with an unlit candle lamp on top and a drawer, a wardrobe, and fireplace.
Footsteps can be heard from a distance, in the direction that the light was seen earlier.
Will the party close the door and/or investigate further?
Roc reads the letter...
”Free reign to investigate... Yes, maybe we can find some clues on the caravans locations. Let’s start with his residence at the docks.”
Roc turns to A23.
”There is much evil in this world. It takes all different forms.”
Despite it being in the dead of night, the party makes their way to the docks. Coming across where Sephek's house should be is a pile of rubble.
" I would say it is generally frowned upon, in the same way that removing a hand is frowned upon." Lumen says in response to A23.
Errona will keep her eyes peeled as they approach the location.

Errona fishes up an opened can. Words on the can are barely legible: "Jumbo's."
Errona will pocket the can and says "Well, I guess we should move on. Come on let's head to the other location."

Errona turns to Lumen and says "Well, you are the 'hero' here. So knock knock!" She slaps him on the back pushing him forward.
"Yes that is probably for the best"
Lumen will make another cursory glance over the house of Sephek and double check that they are at the correct address.

" Sadly I'm not much one for getting past doors." Lumen responds sullenly. " Perhaps this is also within your wheelhouse Errona?"
He listens to see if anyone is home in the abode.

" You seem to have quite the way with doors? Don't have some sort of grudge do you?"
Lumen puts his ear up to the home, but does not sense anyone's presence. Errona decides to pick the lock, which opens with a click. She presses her hand delicately on the door, when a23 approaches from behind and shoves the door open with a loud SLAM!

" What are we scared now? Fear not."
He uncovers his brightly shining amulet and heads inside.
Roc will walk in with both hands on his scimitars.

“Footsteps...” Roc grabs his bow.
”I’ll handle this.”
Roc will draw his scimitars and stand against the wall next to the door... And wait...
