(OOC. In preparation for the council and being magically questioned and for the song above, I had a bit of a skim through the historic thread. High staff turnover: No one from the current cast seems to have been there at the beginning. It also looks like a bit of speed-run, as in both castle locations the group seems to have skipped entire floors/areas and just gone straight for the exit / bosses. It feels like the party missed out on whole areas, encounters, characters, etc.
Anyway, let me try and summarise again, in an easier-to-read than the song in the other post:
Having come on an airship from previous adventures, a group of adventurers were recruited to investigate a cult that appears to be worshipping dragons and is accumulating money. The heroes met and travelled with a caravan, fought off Giants and Ogres, etc.
Some treasure was taken from the town of Greenest, and the party agreed to try and track it down. In this endeavour, their tracked it to a Roadhouse which they infiltrated, posing as part of the labourers/crew. During a fight inside with some Lizardfolk, the Roadhouse was attacked by a Black Dragon. The party managed to escape, and with the help of a Bullywug leader called Snapjaw, they tracked the Lizardfolk downriver and made their way via boat towards a castle which appears to be a Cultist stronghold.
They entered 'Castle Naerytar' under the guise of pretending to deliver Tribute. Having fought some of its inhabitants, they delve into the castle Dungeon where they meet Kat. They also discover that the lower Dungeons have a teleportation circle, which brought them to a Hunting Lodge occupied by the Cultists.
At the hunting lodge, the survivors of the original party are joined by Torman, Wagner and Duncan. After finding out some more about the cult and their actions, they make their way to the village or Parnast, where they are assumed to be cultists, and taken join a group to fly to a castle.
They fly up to a castle in the sky on the back of Wyverns, and later battle the Wyvers. In the castle, they encountered friendly Giants who helped the party hide from the Cult and gave them some advice. During a struggle between different factions within the Cult, the party managed to break into the study of Rezmir the Wyrmspeaker and steal some items.
They then slipped directly into the lair of the Dragon, who was guarding the hoard of gold coins and slew it. Upon the death of the Dragon (or around the same time), the castle lsot its magical ability to stay in the air and started falling. The party managed to get clear and safely land nearby.
After escaping the snow into a cave, and rescuing some circus performers from Orcs who held them captive, they teleported back to the city of Waterdeep to meet one of their old contacts, who bids them attend a council meeting – which is where we are now.)
Kat grins as the rather lengthy song is played. She'd overheard bits and pieces, but this is her first time hearing it all in one go. For all his boasting, the bard is pretty good at telling tales!

Azzure smiles at the recounting of the tale. He would laugh and clap along at each of the intervals. ((Thank you for the summary! Sorry for my delay.)) “We are likely to add to that tale by facing many mighty foes to come. I worry that some of us may fall, I want to be prepared with healing magics, by Helm’s blessing. Should I purchase any that are on a scroll? I may not be able to say them correctly, they may have a chance of failing, but what say you? I love those brooms, I would like one myself!”
Azzure purchases a broom of flying, and asks for any suggestions.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Azzure purchases a broom of flying, and asks for any suggestions.
(I presume this part took place before the council meeting, still during shopping?) "Duncan, I think that leaves you as the only member of the group without a Broom of Flying. Come, I can lend you the money for it. Let's buy you one too. It would be very silly if we all have to wait around for our frontline fighter to catch up to us, running behind on foot!" (Gryrig is worried that having their tank / human shield behind them is not much use. He'd much rather Duncan is ahead of him, to soak up any arrows or spells that might otherwise target Gryrig.)
(Also, very OOC: If we all have Flying Brooms, does this make us the DnD equivalent of a Biker Gang?)
Duncan just smiles and looks at his feet, which are currently adorned by Winged Boots. Looking back up, he says, “These may not be the best for long flights, but keeping my hands free during aerial combat is much to be desired. If we are planning to fly long distances every day, you may have a point…”

(I didn't realise you had those. Fair enough. Probably no point doubling up on such items)
(You remember the white dragon attacking the castle, before you killed the white dragon, considering it was a creature of cold is must of done some damage.)
As you wait in the Garden a human male dressed in finery sporting a black staff comes out.. "I'm Lord Degault Neverember leader of the Greys and high council Who'll be the one, to give, your testimony?"
Torman, a weary smile on his face, stands to greet the newcomer. Bags are still visible under his eyes as his gaze moves slowly to Gyrig then back to the newcomer. "I am more likely to bore the council with dry detail and a bevy of questions, theories and suppositions. Gyrig here, on the other hand..." He points to the loquacious bard, "Well, let's just say he is more than capable of keeping even the dullest audience entertained."
After a moment his eyes dart about and he clears his throat, a little surprised that he had given voice to his thoughts. "Not...not that I mean to imply that the council are dullards, of course. More ah...that they would appreciate the tale told in its proper context, without too much...um..."
He sighs and closes his eyes, shaking his head, collecting his thoughts.
"Gyrig's your man," he says, squinting a little in the light.
Azzure stands beside Torman, nodding. “Aye. Gyrig can tell the tale the best. Quite an interesting sequence of events that sets us before you.” He shifts his weight in his armor and stretches his back, then stands at attention.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Gryrig appreciates the trust expressed by his friends, and with great confidence (and probably a large amount of overconfidence) he steps forward.
He takes off his hat in an elaborate sweep and bows low to the lord. He says: "Mylord, it is an honour to meet you and to address the council. May I introduce myself and our group.
Kathryn Hazeleyes, our brave tracker and scout.Torman, mighty Wizard and all-around master academic. Azzure Thunderstroke, devoted Cleric and sage councillor. Duncan MacMichael, glorious Fighter whom none exceed in daring and bravery.
And last but not least, I am Gryrig Wagner: Bard, Adventurer, Diplomat, and Leader of this group."
(I'm afraid, his ego has now inflated yet a bit further.) As he says this last part, he has a wide smile for the lord but then seems to realise what he has just said and glances quickly at the others, hoping they won't later give him a bit of hard time for overstepping.
"We are ready to address the council whenever it pleases your lordship and council."
Gryrig Degault Neverember leads you into the council chambers. Many lords and nobles sit in a simi circler room, an auditorium. Gryrig is led to a podium in front. A woman dressed in finery announces him as he stands on the soapbox. "Gryrig Wagner from ******* Has the floor."
Duncan stands in his relaxed but ready posture, having nothing to say himself unless called on. He is certainly not the loquacious type, but he is indeed fully committed to destroying the cult of the dragon, and, hopefully, exacting vengeance on the evil red dragon who murdered his family.

Gryrig steps forward into the centre of the space and begins his tale.
"My Lords, Ladies, Gentlemen, Dignitaries, Councillors ans Nobles. We come bearing grim reports and tidings, but also some happy news.
We have discovered a plot by a cult worshipping evil-aligned dragons to gather a fortune in gold for their nefarious plans. The influence of this cult, and the dragons, seems to spread far and wide. But we also bring news of victory, for recently we have slain an evil white dragon who was in league with this cult.
But to appreciate the entire story, let me start at the beginning."
(At this point, he plays a chord and then launches into the song [see earlier posts])
Gryrig sings the song as best as he can, using his magical instrument to add some illusory effects where dramatically appropriate. He moves around the stage (or what is his mind is a stage, but is probably just the area in the middle of the council chamber)
As he comes towards the end of his song, be subtly drifts over towards whichever female council member is most attractive, so that be can sing the last few cords almost serenading her. As the song ends, he adds:
"I hope you found our tale enlightening. I am at your disposal for further questions whenever you desire" while giving her a meaningful look. (He thinks he won't have such a chance again, so he is trying to take his chances)
