Torman nods vigorously at Duncan's comment. "Yes. Yes. Warm weather gear. Good idea!"
He looks a little hesitant, then turns to Gyrig. "There were one or two other things I neglected to purchase as well. Would you perhaps..." He rubs his fingers together then half shrugs. "Perhaps another 300? I know it's an imposition."
He smiles at the Council woman, "Saving the city is an expensive business, you know."

"Not a problem my friend. Just remember that you'll owe me a favour" Gryrig says, adding a wink at the end.
He then mutters to himself "I wonder if I should start to charge interest." But he quickly dismisses the idea as it would seemingly involve a large amount of account keeping and possibly even mathematics, both of which sound very boring and (to Gryrig) less useful than favours owed.

Torman laughs, "More than one, it would seem! I am sure that I will be able to make myself useful, though I hope it does not involve high-ranking Councillors."
He then turns to the others, "Meet back at the Inn in an hour? I have some last-minute purchases to make."
”Works for me,” replies Duncan, leaving to go get stocked on cold weather gear, maybe a climbing kit if their flight fails them, and maybe some extra provisions for a long trip.

Gryrig is not all too happy about the prospect of the freezing cold and snow, so follows Duncan to make some similar purchases of cold weather gear, blankets, perhaps a cold-weather tent if such a thing can be found.

Azzure walks along with everyone else to purchase additional items prior to their departure, additional rations, cold weather gear, and a cap of water breathing. As they are walking, he says to Torman, “I have some extra gold if you need it, just let me know Torman. We need to be ready for this trip, so get all that you need.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Torman nods in thanks to Azzure, "That last little adventure taught me truly how little I knew." He pauses and looks around as though looking for spies, then lowers his voice, "I really don't want to make that mistake again."
He rubs his temple with his left hand, "So much new knowledge buzzing in my head...I just hope I can recall it all when needed. That, and remember what I wrote in my little book," he says, patting the book under his arm.
With a shake of his head that disturbs the owl resting on his shoulder he focuses on the resolute back of Duncan as he leads them back to the market. "The practicalities, you know, they often escape me. Were it not for Duncan I would likely journey onward in this puffery." He waves at his new clothes. "That woulldn't do at all. But fear not! My with my trusty new friend..." he gently strokes the owl, "...and my newfound knowledge I am sure I shall prove useful."
He rubs his temple again and, despite his confident words, continues look troubled.
When he is done shopping he hurries back to the inn and up to his room, returning rather later than he said, but dressed in travelling clothes and with more fresh ink stains on his hands.

Torman breathes a sigh of relief. He was becoming flustered and worried about forgetting something.
"Well, we shall at least get one more decent meal before we leave."

"Well, we shall at least get one more decent meal before we leave."
Gryrig agrees: "Indeed. And it may be the last decent hot meal we get for a while. Let us feast tonight, for who knows what the morrow holds!" He feels like the last part is a quote from somewhere, and tries to hold a heroic stance as he says this, but can't remember where it is from and quickly feels silly. He lapses back to his normal self and begins so wonder where the best place to spend the night would be. He will ask some of the better-dressed locals for a recommendation on a good Inn/Alehouse where they can eat and drink to their hearts' content.
He also takes Azurre to the side and tells him "Can you please keep an extra healing spell ready for tomorrow morning? I have a feeling that I may end up with a hangover after our last night out on the town. Not that I can't hold my drink of course!" he adds quickly, blushing with embarassment. "But you know. Just in case I get a bottle of bad wine"

Next morning, after you eat. Dala is waiting for you outside the Inn. A wagon is full of supplies. One foot locker for each adventurer containing heavy winter boots and heavy winter cloaks, climbing gear, snowshoes, rations enough to last a month and tents and one flask.
She leads you and the wagon to the dock ward. There you view an equivalent of a 60ft Viking longship. On the back it has a plaque with the name Frostskimmr. A human in a half leather mask on deck, barking orders.
Dala shouts "Captain Lerustah! Could you send someone to help your passengers with their gear?" The man in the halfmask looks down towards the group "Aye your ladyship," He barks some orders and 4 crewmen swing down on ropes. Others send a wide board to the side for you to walk up on.
"Excellent--to Adventure!" says Duncan, happy after a hot meal, a cold ale, a warm bath, and a good night's sleep. He easily carries his own luggage aboard and stows it where he is told, taking a deep breath of the fresh air.

Torman nods in gratitude to the Noble and waits while the gear is loaded, taking occasional note of what they have been provided.
Turning to their benefactor he smiles then asks, "Do you perhaps have more information about the location, or any allies we might have at our destination? The slightest thing might help."
He examines the tiny ship and winces. He draws a deep breath, then turns back to the noble. "Maps, perhaps? Notes from prior explorers?"

He examines the tiny ship and winces. He draws a deep breath, then turns back to the noble. "Maps, perhaps? Notes from prior explorers?"
Gryrig nods vigorously. "Yes, where exactly are we going? I mean: North, yes. But how far, where exactly? Is there a location or beacon we head to? I don't really fancy just sailing around the freezing ocean at random."
That was the Draakhorn the Sea of Moving Ice was the last known location of the Draakhorn. No one can pinpoint its present location from the sound, or even verify with certainty that the relic is still in the northern sea, but the search must start there.
“The one person who could tell us more is a tiefling sorcerer called Maccath the Crimson. No one alive knows more about the Draakhorn than her, but the Arcane Brotherhood, of which she is also a member, hasn’t seen her for three years. She was investigating the Sea of Moving Ice when she disappeared. Though the council still argues, they did concur, we need your group's help to investigate it. And even maybe find out the fate, of Maccath.”
Dala Silmerhelve answers
"
“Maccath reported her progress to the Hosttower by way of sending spells. Her last report spoke of seeing Ice Hunters paddling their sealskin boats toward a huge iceberg, flattened like a plateau across its surface, but ringed by icy peaks. She had intended to follow the Ice Hunters and investigate the iceberg. After that, no more reports came.
“Attempts to find Maccath using scrying and other magical means located only her ship, adrift and heavily damaged. Some of the ship’s crew were seen dead, but no sign of the tiefling sorcerer was ever found. However, the lair of a dragon as powerful as Arauthator is no doubt protected against scrying magic. If Maccath is alive, in addition to the lore she can share regarding the Draakhorn, the Arcane Brotherhood would be most grateful to get her back. We have no contacts, we do have the last known location of the ship she was on. The captain knows where."
"Well. I see." Torman nods in thanks, though clearly underwhelmed by the results of their research. "I suppose if magic has failed, then eyes are needed."
With that he cautiously boards the vessel and asks the captain how long the journey will be before going below to check on his gear.
Torman nods vigorously at Duncan's comment. "Yes. Yes. Warm weather gear. Good idea!"
