The battlefield is clearing in the party’s favour, but that’s no time to be complacent!… Ash looks at her friends… ((who out of Ess and Korrik looks worst for wear? Thanks)).
((Heading to bed, but as the three of you are going strong:
Ben would like a short rest. Maybe on the boat they took from the Winter?
During the short rest he would play a song of rest for those injured: 1
He would like to have Kay skin that purple monster, with the outstanding bardic inspiration, if possible while he helps him (advantage) with prestidigitation to keep everything clean.
Night!

Ash, your first attack plus the sneak damage destroy the swarm that was on Korrik! (-8) You them move forward and use that other attack on Ess's swarm. (-2)
Ess slices a few off (-2 from rolling thread)
Korrik, your first and third attacks take some of the spiders off Ess (-6)
Bimz isn't able to bite any spiders from Ess.
Round 7: Ben, Swarm, Ash, Ess, Korrik, Bimz
Ben, the swarm resists your mincing words and they squiggle around trying to survive in limited numbers.
The swarm try to bite Ess one last time.
Ess bites: 23 Damage: 15
They fail to get their 'last meal'.
Ash is up, Korrik can also attack.
I'm not going to update the map quite yet as I think this will be the end but please roll to be sure. You are both in range of Ess's spiders.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After making sure that the last spider is off of Ess, Ash sheathes her daggers, and reels with the trauma of it all, “Good gods!…”.
She looks up at the sky, falls to her knees, then over-ostentatiously collapses back onto her back on the deck, arms and legs splayed out like a starfish, her chest rising and falling in great heaves as she gasps in the salty air to get her breath back!
“Oh my! Is everyone okay?”, she asks the stars above her, not sitting up or looking up yet. “Korrik?!… Shoot!… you all right?!?!…”.
Eventually she lifts herself into a reclining sitting position propped on one elbow, and looks like she might be sick but holds it together.
”Uhhh-h-h….”.
Then, mostly composed, but still reclining, she looks and listens frantically about the deck making sure nothing else is crawling toward the party…
"I am quite certain there are more spiders down there. We need to come up with a plan to flush, or smoke them out, without burning the ship."
To Kay,
"Glad to see you end the fight on your feet. That thing," he points at the purple halfing eater, "Needs to be skinned so it can pay us back for all those potions that were needed. I would hazard to say that hide is going to be quite exotic."
(As noted above, prestidigation to help while Kay cuts and then uses that last golden bardic if needed.)
To Ess he says,
"Can you signal those dwarves to come back and get us. I think we need to take a break before continuing, you and Kay look very unwell, and I don't want to be sitting up here while we have that break."
Ash looks around the deck for ideas… She says, “Something like a smoke bomb is what we need…”, with a meta-wink to Ben. ”But I don’t know how we’d make one…”. ((I don’t think?))
”Once we skin this thing though, we could always drag the grizzly body over the grate, and let the blood drip down… That would lure some things out, onto the deck, I’m sure?! Distract them too… and maybe fill their mouths and bellies?”.
”Or do we want to just try being super stealthy next time?”.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Let's see what we get with blood and its corpse. Hopefully that was the only one of those things and the big spiders on board but I doubt our luck is so good."
He nods approvingly at the skinning job, trying to remember if he has heard about these things before,

"Well done there Kay, you do have a hand for that."
When they are done with the skinning he'll have them stow the body to the side so it doesn't start anything early and ask Kay,
"Is it common that ships get filled with spiders after three years at sea? And mutated spider people? I can't say I have ever heard of it happening."
"I mean, there's always a few spiders on a ship that's been around a while, but just the little ones, sort that feed on flies and the like... not ones big enough to feed on the crew."

Ess would also go to Korrik and make sure he is ok
"Duuuuuude. Man I thought we lost you there. I can't believe that same shite happened to us, bros! Hey thanks Ashy and all of you for getting the last of those bugs off me, too. Damn looks like we should be more careful on this thing yeah bro? But dude, I'm also wondering why there's huge spiders on here. I mean unless they just made it their floating home? Do spiders swim bros??"
(lol)
Ash, you don't notice anything else coming at this time towards you.
Ben, you don't see anything else down the grate other than a few small spiders and some webbing that remained from your magic.
Ben, Ess responds "Um yeah dude. I'm hurtin'. Those blasted spiders really messed me up." and he wipes blood from his face. Ess then proceeds to wave the rowboat back for pickup and they start to come back.
Korrik, Ess most definitely helps with the skinning. "Yeh bro I'll help. Seems this is becoming a thing now!"
Korik, with Ess's help you get the best cut you can get from whatever the heck this thing is. The veiny, purplish flesh is quite meaty and you're able to get nice clean cuts.
Ben, you haven't heard of a humanoid spider creature like this before. Maybe only in your nightmares.
The rowboat would be there soon. Is the plan to put the purple creature's corpse on the grate and let the blood drip down and wait? Or would you do that after you get back from the rowboat? Are you planning to rest for 1 hour? The dwarves don't mind of course but they'd advise you that they'd recommend no longer than an hour as the ship doesn't look good and even all of you that succeeded in the rolls previously know that this boat just isn't going to stay afloat for much longer. "It's going to be a damn waste should ye wait any longer! I'm tellin' ye! look at that thing!"one of the higher ranked dwarves would say.
Let me know what you want to do!

Ben, the bugs seem to clear away from Kay's face for a moment and they seem quite irritated (-2, disadvantage next attack roll)
The swarm on Korrik tries to bite him some more (disadvantage, and the potential damage is less due to small swarm)
Kay bites: 5 Damage: 5
They miss!
The other swarm creep to Ess and swarm him! "Not agggaaaiinnnn!!!" (he doesn't have his shield)
Ess bites: 7 Damage: 12
They miss!
Ash is up!
Maps are updated.
Round 6: Ben, Swarms, Ash, Ess, Korrik, Bimz

Combat is over!
Let me get the next post together using Ben's last post. Feel free to add anything else as well in the meantime.
Post will be later this morning after I drop the fledglings at their place of education, haha

"I'm happy to roll it into the grate, break the grate, and deal with whatever comes out. At very least we can thin them out on our terms."
He eyes the grate warily,
"If we could manage that smoke we might even suffocate a few, but not at the risk of a fire."
"I've got cigars, but not sure how we get the smoke down there."
He'll get to his feet and go look at the creature, trying to see what the best approach to skinning it might be.
"Can I get a hand over here? Ess?"
