Upon hearing the terrifying message, Ash hastily pedals backwards, across the decking and away from the house. Then she stumbles a bit off of the decking, onto the lawn. And then fully falls backwards over the fallen log in the garden.
She quickly scrambles the right way up, but remains cowered low behind the log on her hands and knees. She peeks back over the log, towards her new companions and the house, mouthing, “Oh!... No, no, no, no!... Ok this was maybe a bad idea... That’s not right... Did you just hear? Did you? Is?... Nope!..No, no, no!!.......”.
Ash smiles at herself, with a nervous laugh, and cautiously stands up behind the log, “Ha!.... caught me by surprise, that’s all...“. She shivers all over and her fur sticks up and spikes out all over for a second or two. Her feline eyes are huge, unblinking saucers of blackness. Her pupils wide, almost no green can be seen in them...
”I... I didn’t see it... what’s in there??...... ....Why’s it not come out?..”. Suddenly she looks behind, and all around, for something that might have come out. She shivers and bristles all over again... “Something is really not right here”. Then like a bunch of kids daring their friends, she says “Ben! Go check it out!......”. But then, almost immediately, she ducks down a few inches for no reason, looking this way and that...
"Guh guh guh guh guyysssss!!!! Duh duh duh did you suh suh see that thing???" Ess exclaims as he also bolts off the deck in fright.
(LOL look at Korrik's portrait... that's the face I imagine him giving the others!)
Ben, you're not sure from the description given by your comrades what the heck it could've been. A spell maybe?
Ash you don't see anything come out of the house as you scan the area.
Ess gets to calm down a bit. He responds to Korrik"Hmmm.... possessed... nope, I don't think so, man." He now tries to pretend that he's no so scared anymore. Now that he's 30-some feet from the door. He then says "Yeah, Ben, what Ash said. Guh guh go check it out. I'll cover you with my bow here." and he begins to sheath his longsword and take his bow from his back to try and coax Ben to go back in first.
((If anything Ben would be further back on the battle map, peering around the tree!))
"Knock it off you two. I am the one that is supposed to be convincing people to do things against their interest."
He looks at the yawning, half interested halfing and says,
"Speaking of which, Kay? How about you go stick your head in there again and let me know if you see anything. Throw another rock?"
He will then move to a point outside where he can see the spot the illusion magic was at to see if it is still there while, hopefully while Korrik does as he requested.
As Ben speaks about getting other people to do things, Ash spins to face him, “I-i-if.. you even THINK about charming me... to go in there!!... I’ll... I’ll.. scratch your eyes out!......”. But there is not a lot in her body language that seems to back that up as she looks around in a panic...
"You needn't worry Ash, I don't do that sort of thing to friends! You look out of sorts, maybe you can go watch from behind that tree over there? Help us if we need it?
He gives her an approximation of a confident smile then turns back towards the house and takes some hesitant steps over to see inside where the illusion was, saying through clenched teeth to Korrik,
"Besides, we were invited and promised treasure, which I don't intend to leave without."
As Ben moves forward, Ash runs up behind him and presses right up against him and peers over his shoulder ((similar to their very first meeting but under quite different circumstances!)) hissing, “Hey!.. Don’t you dare leave me out here!”.
She clings to his shoulder and tip-toes forward with him, hiding behind him, eyes wide. Both of them shuffling forward together...
Ben tenses as Ash presses again his back again, expecting another dagger in the back. When that doesn't happen he looks over his shoulder at her again and says,
"I wasn't planning on going in. I am going to stand over there and see if I can see any magic where I saw it before. Kay is the one going in, right Kay?"
He moves into the room and looks all over for the magic in a different spot in the room, if it is clear he calls back to those outside things are clear. For now. Otherwise he will have Kay through another rock at the new magic spot as he hustles out of the house again.
Ben, you don't get any sense of any other magic in the room. The previous aura is gone as well that you saw before the mouth appeared.
Ben, please roll an investigation or a survival check, your choice.
Anyone else can also roll one of those checks should they use any effort to look around the room.
Korrik, you prod at the rug. You see now that it is quite heavy, and when you kick at it, nothing happens.
Then Korrik, all of a sudden says "How dare you enter my home! May your fur fall out, may your tail grow back, may your singing be ever out of tuuuuuunnnneee!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ash creeps in after the others, not wanting to be left alone (and slightly emboldened when the magic doesn't come back immediately).
She starts to investigate, looking around the room with the others:
Investigation check: 20
When Korrik starts speaking, Ash spins round to face him and starts backing away, hissing, “What the devil do you think you’re doing?! ..That’s NOT funny!!...”.
”And my fur, and my tail, are fine! Thank you!....”, she reassures Ben.
((Boom!... oh! I forgot disadvantage on checks... here’s another one: 11 ))
((that's right, Ben would need to make another roll as his check needs to be at disadvantage - however Ash's is more than enough))
Ash, you can clearly see human footprints shaped like some kind of boots which have left mud and/or dirt residue. The footprint trail leads from the door on the east wall to the green rug.
As you look closer, you can see there's a trap door underneath the rug because Korrik moved the rug slightly with his staff just moments ago.

From across the yard Ben yells,
"What? Can you come closer? We can talk about it over here, away from the house."
He asks when they get closer,
"Everyone heard that." He checks for nods before continuing, "Did something come out of the floor?"
If they describe what they saw he will think on what it could be, knowing that there had been illusion magic there.

"What happened to your positive outlook Kay? You need to get more sleep, doesn't he Ess?"
He flinches as the rock is thrown but this time tries to watch what happens with the illusion magic.
(hahahahahahaha)
Not going to summarize any of that because it's all quite entertaining just the way it is!
None of you see the mouth anymore, and the rock flies in the house and hits the rug and then floor and nothing happens.
Map updated.
Korrik inches forward, staff out and ready. He prods the rug, and if nothing happens, he'll give it a kick.
