Mist gives Druquilla a covert, sidelong glare before returning his attention to the wailing worshipers with a smile. "Why of course I can help you! I'm sure this is all just one big misunderstanding. You all seem like nice enough folk and you're clearly willing to embarrass yoursel... er... repent your misdeeds publicly. What god wouldn't be happy with that? Surely not my god, this... er... OARSMAN! Right. Well, let's just take a looksee and try to discern the truth of the matter."
(What's under/below the bridge? A gorge? A river? Dark oblivion?)
Mist walks to the ledge next to the bridge, sweeps away any dirt or rubble that could muss up his robe, lays down on his belly, and looks at the under side of the bridge. Anything out of the ordinary? Troublesome trolls? Mischievous madcaps? Giggling goblins? If not, he'll remove a dagger from his sleeve and stab it into the wood of the bridge to see if there's any sort of reaction in case the durn thing is alive!
Kraven looks at the bridge, muttering, "No way am I walking on that thing." Then looks at the rest of the party, chuckling a bit, "Any of you smaller and lighter folk want a lift?"
[OOC: With what I am currently carrying, I can carry an additional 93 lbs. :) ]
"There does not appear to be anything directly magical happening here, but I admit the realms of divinity are not my specialty." Aubric says stepping back from the bridge.
Mist you happen to see a few odd spots almost as of you are looking through steam, you recognize the shape it's the same shape as the first lava creatures you caught in the volcano, this must be steam mephits. They look to be throwing around the bridge as Gintarou is walking on it.

You would be able to drop stuff off on the far side and then carry everyone else over, Gintarou would have been a no go but he seems to be crossing the bridge on his own.
Gintarou decides to go back to his party. " Did you find something interesting? Oh great high priest. I felt like someone shaking the bridge from below"
Mist glares at the mephits and tries to catch their attention. He waves to them and draws his hand under his chin in the universal sign for "cut it out!"
As he stands and dusts off his robe Mist sends a telepathic message to his companions. It's a simple series of images of the pilgrims walking onto the bridge and the mephits shaking it once again. This is followed by a gaudy, over-the-top image of Mist spectacularly jumping through the air like a superhero and blowing up the mephits with magic, complete with fire and explosions in the background. Finally an image of the whole party flexing victory poses while standing over the fallen forms of the mephits after they joined in to take down the exasperating elementals.
"Good news, fellow pilgrims!" he says. "Our mighty and wonderous uh... Oarsman!... Our beloved deity is not mad at yeh. Quite the opposite, in fact! He's seen your faithfulness and wants to test your devotion to this crusade and has seen fit to put a simple test in your path! Yeh must try and try again to cross this blasted bridge but he's set me in your path to keep an eye out to make sure you're ok. So just get up and get on again and you can trust in ol' Mist here to have your back!"
(If the mephits continue shaking the bridge, Mist will flop back down and fire an eldritch blast at the nearest one hoping to either get them to quit or draw them out into direct confrontation.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kraven on a second look you do see them, and understand why you might Have missed (I thought about miss spelling that on purpose) them, they are see through.
Takes two checks to cross all the way, which is why I made two checks for each. The first two pilgrims fall back as they try to cross, the third fall over the edge.
(Not sure how many mephitis there are, but Mist will squeeze off as many rounds as he can at 1 per 6 seconds just as soon as they start to move the bridge.)
Kraven you are able to catch him but your movement is now at 1/4 due to how much extra you are carrying.
Mist I'm assuming you are making sure you are ahead to insure you are not allowing down combat this weekend. Everyone may make their attacks as the 3 mephitis come flying out from under the bridge. Everyone may take their turns then I will take the NPCs then the monster's.

Seeing the odd vision in her mind Druquilla gives Mist a questioning look but once she sees the pilgrims be thrown from the bridge followed by the rising of the mephitis she gets some understanding of what Mist was trying to show. Druquilla takes aim with her bow then lets loose an arrow on one of the mephitis while shouting to Mist, "You couldn't just say, 'Hey there are mephitis under the bridge we should deal with them' instead of whatever that was you did?"
Mist I'm assuming you are making sure you are ahead to insure you are not allowing down combat this weekend.
(Sorry. For clarity, Mist is taking whatever shots he can before the mephits engage him. If they come right out and start fighting, I assume he'd only get one shot off. If they try to stay hidden under the bridge and continue shaking it, he'll keep firing. But since it seems they're engaging, he'll stand back up and prepare for the next round of combat so disregard the 2nd and 3rd attacks.)

Kraven shakes his head at the words form Mist, Mist what are you playing at, I already looked under the bridge and saw nothing, Kraven thinks.
Kraven will once more fly out over the cavern and look under the bridge.
