Kraven looks back towards the room sighs, swears and then moves back from the opening several feet, whispering to this friends, "No need to worry about being quiet, it knows we are here." His fathers puffing up and rustling as he says, "Big ugly creature and three merfolk, who look to be some kind of slaves are in the next room."
Mist as you get close you see what they are doing and you are confident that the 3 of them together are preforming a ritual, and that by having the 3 of them doing it, it is going faster, the only way to stop them from making the opening bigger it is to stop all 3 of them.
Once the rest of the party catches up, Mist sighs and looks to the group.
"Been an honor and a pleasure adventurin' w' ye lads. Had a right good go o' it, we did. We may or may not come out the other side o' this mess wholly intact - or a'tall fer that matter - but I'm goin' in anyway, sure as t' hells are hot. Me pa taught me better 'n ta back down from a fight an' 'twould be a disservice to 'is memory if I were to do such a thing as that at such a time as this." He sees an eyebrow raise amongst the crew. "Wot? No, he's not dead! But I can still remember 'im, can't I?! Jeez...everyone's a critic in these waters." He rolls his eyes and shakes his head before continuing. "You might be askin' yerself things such like 'Why's it got t' end like this, Mis'tuv?' or 'Wot did I do t' deserve summat like this, Cap'n Mist?' - well I'll tell yis! There's no adventurin's worth doin' if ye can't hold yer head high and proudly say 'I did the right t'ing and I did it fer t' right reason!' This 'ere world's on t' brink of cattle-stropic ruination! Are yis gonna sit back an' say 'Ain't my problem, Mis'tuv. I'll jes swim back t' the surface and these fish monsters can 'ave their cold, dark, miserable hole in the sea. Wot's it got t' do w' me?' An'...well...y'd be askin'...well...very appropriate an' pertinent questions... But I'm absolutely certain tha'... I'm MOSTLY convinced tha'... Well, there's at least SOME chance this mess could spill o'er t' our warm, sunny, dry lives back on land in some way an' come back t' bite us on the backside when we least expect it. An' that d'n't set well w' me! I'm not willin' t' return t' m'home, proverbial tail tucked betwixt m'legs, an worry 'bout lookin' over m'shoulder fer the rest of me MANY days. No! We need t' stay focused on wot's important. Eyes on the prize 's what I say! Think o' yer home. O' yer loved ones. O' that awful pet what jus' showed up one day an' ye haven't been able to be rid of no matter 'ow many dangerous situations y' put 'em in!"
"Oh **** off," comes a familiar, raspy reply from the seemingly empty water around you.
Mist laughs. "Jes makin' sure yer still w' us, demon."
"DEVIL! Ugh...why I got punished with this assignment, I'll never know."
Not bothering to respond, Mist refocuses. "Think o' everythin' you've left behind fer this! Now. Imagine it's all gone. Destroyed. 'By wot, Mist?' By THAT thing right there (whatever it is)!" he points to Ihu’qancao in the distance. "THAT'S what ye 'ave t' look forward to if we don' see this t'rough. Not reason enough? Think on this, but do it quick: We make it through this...we can finally get paid. I spoke o' reasons. Inspiration. Truth. Justice. Freedom. Kissin' babies. A hot meal on a cold winter's night 'round the hearth. Gold!" His eyes lose focus for a moment before he snaps back. "Right...uh... Got t'...um...keep priorities straight, is wot I'm sayin'."
He takes a deep breath and meets each person's gaze. "At this point yer prolly thinkin' 'What's all this t' do w' me? 'S that Mist bloke gone and achieved some sort o' incredible feat t' give us some paltry boon in battle? Mayhaps our fearless leader is inspirin' us fer a wee boost t' our collective vitality t' carry us through...' Well y'd be right out wrong fer thinkin' such silly things, my friends. But, in conclusion, I jus' want t' remind each o' yis what's truly important. What we're REALLY fightin' fer..." A dramatic pause hangs for a moment. "Booze money."
With these last words, he lets a sly grin and a wink fly as he swings his arm behind toward the grotto and points once more. His steady gaze slowly follows his finger and he repeats, louder and more emphatically this time, as if it were a rallying cry, "FOR BOOZE MONEY!!!"
You feel a rush of movement in the water near you as you imagine an invisible imp darting by. Mist's other hand uncorks a bottle he retrieved from his robe and a burst of bubbles escapes as Freb the cloud golem emerges and makes a bee line for the nearest merfolk, doing that bad animation run where he moves faster than his feet (20ft movement speed but a marlin skirt bumps him to 30 🤣). A brief current pulls water from the room toward the northernmost merfolk as that now-familiar tear in reality opens briefly and a 10ft-long tentacle emerges, immediately striking down at its target. Without hesitating, Mist's grin splits to a full smile as his twin beams of crackling energy streak out from his pointed finger to the same unfortunate merfolk who just happened to catch his eye.
Everything is aimed at the same target (northernmost merfolk). If they die at any point, attacks will move to the westernmost one, leaving the southernmost for those who need to get into melee. Bonus action: Tentacle of the Deeps - Attack: 9 (sigh...) Damage (lol): 6 cold damage and their speed is reduced by 10ft until the start of my next turn Action: Eldritch blast - Attack #1: 28 (CRIT!!!) Damage #1: 19 (almost max damage!) force damage; Attack #2: 16 Damage #2: 10 force damage Freb lumbers 30ft toward the merfolk Tukmas invisibly swims 30ft toward the same target
Kraven feels a bolstered after hearing Mist's speech and runs into the room after Mist attacks and then immediately ducks down behind a pile of skulls thinking, That halfling is going to get me killed one of these days, but then he laughs, shrugs his shoulders and tosses a couple of psychic daggers at the northern most merfolk.
Psychic Dagger: To hit: 11 Damage: 7
Corpse Psychic Dagger: 10 (Nat 1) Damage: 9
Sneak Attack Damage: 13 (not that it matters)
Seeing his daggers fly harmlessly to each side of the merfolk Kravens shoulders slump, maybe I should have listened to Mist's words a little bit better.
Kuatho moves forward at speed and attacks the creature to the northeast of Mist, jabbing with his spear twice and kicking once. “The only way out is through! For booze money! Wait a minute, that “booze” knocked me for a loop…”
Spear attack 1 : 18 to hit for 5 points of piercing damage.
Spear attack 2 : 23 to hit for 5 points of piercing damage.
Bonus action kick : 22 to hit for 7 points of bludgeoning damage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(From what I see on the Roll20 map and the passageway where Mist started, Jecob using his full movement from that spot will still leave him 30' short of either of the closest merfolk.)
Jecob isn't quite sure what to make of Mist's speech, but he will discuss that later, after this abominable abyssal ritual is stopped. (Jecob has blindsight within 10', so he would be aware of Tukmas if the imp was around the whole time.)
He charges west 30', then uses a BA for Misty Step to put him to the SE of the SE-most merfolk. He then swings twice with the magic censer. (Rolls in game log.)
Swing 1: to-hit 20 damage 13 bludgeoning + 6 radiant Swing 2: to-hit 26 damage 8 bludgeoning + 4 radiant (If there are no resistances or vulnerabilities, that is a total of 31 damage.)

Mist- the tenticals flap around and miss, but your first eldrith blast hits the merfolk who falls. The Second blast hits the merfolk, hard but not hard enough to knock it out.
Kraven- I am going to assume that you would follow the same counter clockwise fation that Mist did, with the north most one being dead, the west one taking the dagger, it falls.
Kuatho- I am unsure who you are trying to attack, and your movement would not allow you to get to the Ihu’qancao and attack. And as I continued I see that Jecob will take out the third Merfolk. So Ihu’qancao does have LA, so I will say that after Kraven attacks Ihu’qancao would move up to their speed, allowing you to get to them. Your flurry of attacks all hit Ihu’qancao while everything seems normal about your attacks they seem to not be phased by the amount of damage taken.
Jecob- both of your attacks would hit and kock out the merfolk, so I am going to position you on the north side of the merfolk to get to use the second attack on Ihu’qancao which hits hard.
Varlan- I will again move your attacks now onto Ihu’qancao, which hit.
Now for Ihu’qancao's turn- I need Kraven to make a Wisdom saving throw. Varlan- you feel an odd sensation come over you, before one of Ihu’qancao's Tentacle's strike out at you, a 25 to hit, and 7 bludgeoning damage. I need you to also make a Constitution saving throw or become diseased.
Please make the saves, everyone can take their turns (excpet for Kraven your Wis save is a factor.)
Lastly can I get those of you who can not control your toon on roll20 let me know who needs to be assinged to who.
Kraven feels something wash over his mind but with a ruffle of his feathers he is able to shake it off.
He then steps out from behind the pile of bones, tosses a couple more daggers and then will step back behind its perceived protection.
Psychic Dagger: To Hit: 26 Doing 6 Damage
Corpse Dagger: To hit: 27 Doing 7 Damage
Sneak Attack Damage: 3
[OOC: Seriously dice gods, I have not cussed you out in a long time and for damage I roll all 1's, just remember, I still hate you. The only way I could do less damage is with a miss, sigh.]
Mist smirks at how unexpectedly well the party is doing and revels in the confidence that there couldn't possibly be any unexpected twists to turn the tides against them (see what I did there?). He unloads another flurry of attacks as Freb, finally able to release some of their pent-up aggression that no one ever expects (because they're the strong, silent type), begins to whale away on the flippery fiend.
Mist Action: Eldritch Blast - Attack: 14 Damage: 10 force Attack: 22 Damage: 11 force Bonus: Tentacle of the Deeps - Attack: 11 (flippin' useless tentacle) Damage: 3 cold & -10ft of movement this round
While the vile Ihu’qancao is distracted by the fray, the melon-sized fallen star begins to lift and move back toward the cave entrance as the invisible Tukmas carries it away. ((Should be able to get it all the way back to Mist's location with a dash. Entirely up to your interpretation as to whether or not the star counts as "equipment" and thusly turns invisible as well.))
Jecob smashes away at the vile Ihu’qancao with his magic censer. (If he can move 5' to get more people in range of his paladin aura, without triggering an AoO, then he will do so. All rolls in Game Log.)
The first time he hits, he uses a 1st level spell slot for Divine Smite for 12 more radiant damage. (If Ihu’qancao counts as undead or fiend, than add another 1d8.)
(If all damage is not modified, the total is 43.)
