Varn nods. "You're probably right. If nothing else, we can at least go down and check whether my blood is still on the wall. We can do it after we sweep the place, though." It's definitely a strange place.
Unless Komos still wants to do anything in the room, Varn exits and looks around. Are there any doors around or paths they did not explore yet? (I think there aren't any, but maybe I forgot something.)
(OOC: I thought that we only explored the back two rooms in the upstairs hallway... You had mentioned that there were two rooms on each side of the hallway.)
Seeing nothing else of interest in this room, and not quite sure what to make of its strange existence, Sniv nods to Varn and decides to head back into the hallway and test the first door on the left-hand side of the hallway to check if it's open. "We haven't checked this room yet, but if it's locked we might need Komos to open it."
((Huh you're right. For some reason I thought you had checked those rooms. I guess you didn't))
The room seemed to be a private living room. Since the building was a restaurant with the first floor being devoted to the operation of the restaurant and the second floor being the home of the owner, it seems like this room was used for whenever guests came to see the family. The room had wooden floors and walls with a window on the opposite side of the door you entered from. There is a cheap green cloth carpet that's decorating this room. There are small chairs in this room arranged around a short square table. There are a total of four chairs. It's likely that the owner picked out 4 small chairs so that they may fit all four of them and the table into this small room. Against the left wall is a shelf which holds cheap wooden and stone decoration pieces as well as a religious icon. On the right wall are two pictures.
Sniv takes a closer look at the chairs and tries to sit in the one facing the wall with the pictures. Does it feel like it was made for a small-sized person (halfling, gnome, goblin, kobold, etc.)? He also takes a look at the pictures to see if he can recognize the location.

The chairs doesn't seem to be made for one of the smaller races. It was clearly made with the common races like Humans, elves, dragonborn, half-orcs etc. in mind. Though they were still smaller than the normal size for such chairs not due to the user's size but to fit them into a smaller room. The pictures depict a human man and a human woman. One of the pictures has both of them standing next to each other in bridal attire. The other one seems to be in a beach or coast of some sort.
Sniv's face scrunches up as he stares at the photo. He never understood this human connection of 'marriage' and the idea of bonding for life seems asinine. Not fitting properly into the chair, Sniv decides to get up and kick the chair over. Calling to the others he says, "There were humans here." He then goes to the religious symbol on the opposite side of the room and takes a closer look at that as well.
Varn stands in front of the pictures, as close as he can be while still able to see the top of the shelf and the pictures. Do the humans in the picture look like one of those they saw in their visions?
It's strange. The woman they saw in the vision is the same one they saw in the horrifying vision. The man however seems to have the same hand structure as the murderer but the hands you saw in the vision seemed to be very much not human. The hands were like Kobold hands but if the Kobold was human sized.
"Didn't he have hands similar to ours before?" Varn points out the strangeness of the picture. "Because I'm pretty sure she was the life-partner of the murderer we saw."
Sniv thinks back to the memory and nods, "Yes, you are right. About the woman at least. I don't know how the man's hands could have changed to become like ours though. Perhaps there is a clue in the last room." Sniv points across the hallway to the first room on the right-hand side of the hall.

Komos is still pondering the room that shouldn’t belong as the others look around. He follows and listens along, letting his mind process everything that they’ve encountered.
Sorry for being so quiet recently. I’m a bit lost and the others are handling the clues far better than I would~
As Komos processes and Varn makes a discovery about the painting, Sniv grumbles to himself. Unable to identify the religious icon, he picks it up and brings it over to Komos. "Do you know what this is? I can't seem to recognize it, but maybe you've seen it before."

((Honestly, with the kind of survival horror mind-**** vibe I'm trying to go for here, I think being a bit lost would actually add to the immersion of the game :P ))
"You might be right. I'll head to the last room. You two join when you finish with this religion thing." Varn then exits the room and proceeds to the last unexplored door. He then tries the doorknob. After all, nobody said all rooms must be locked. And, if it is locked, he'll probably have to wait for Komos anyway.
Sadly, this last door was one that was locked. The wood making up the door does look cheaper and more fragile than the other doors. A good hit might be able to break it down.
If Komos is willing to take/study the religious icon that Sniv passed off, Sniv will give him some guidance and then join Varn at the door, "I don't know that any of us are strong enough to break that door. Maybe we should just wait for Komos so that he can pick the lock." If the artificer joins them at the door, the druid once again gives some guidance before letting Komos try and get through the lock.

Sadly, the religious icon is of a deity but not one that he recognizes.
