Sniv peeks into the guest room with some divine guidance to see if the dust anywhere has been shifted or if there are any signs that something might be hidden in it, but after a cursory look, he joins the other two and asks, "Are we ready to check another building? Or do we want to look up the other side of the stairs?"
Sniv checks the Guest room. He is quite sure he searched it thoroughly. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anything of interest in that room. Additionally it has not been used in a while.
You return back down the stairs. There is another set opposite to these set and there is the door to the kitchen. In the kitchen is another door you have yet to explore but given the layout of the building, it leads to the blacksmith's yard, where his forge is.
((Since FireCat is going to be busy for a few days, I'm going to move forward.))
Going up the other set of stairs, the group finds themselves in front of a rickety looking wooden door. It is locked via a large padlock. The set of stairs lead directly to this place with only a small section of flat wooden floor to stand on. Even being small as they are, the halls are still narrow enough that two of them would feel a bit cramped if they stood side by side. The flat floor is slightly bigger than what a single human (or similar race) would need to stand comfortably.
Sniv takes makes a close inspection of the door, and comes to the conclusion that it is locked via a large padlock. Turning to Komos, he proclaims his findings aloud, "My keen senses have told me that this door is locked by that," he points to the padlock, "padlock. You are quite good at opening locks, but everyone needs a little help sometimes, so take some help." Sniv gives Komos a hefty pat on the back while muttering an incantation and then steps back to let Komos up onto the upper floor. He tilts his head slightly upwards looking very pleased with himself.

Komos keeps trying the keys on the ring. After trying a few, one of them works and the padlock unlocks. Opening the door, they find a room full of crates, sacks, rolled carpets and other stuff. This looks like a store room of some kind. Crates contain various spare smithing tools and store products like weapons, armor, horseshoes, nails and tools of various types.
Sniv frowns. He was hoping for something exciting in the room, but he doesn't give up hope just yet. He enters the room carefully, and then clutching his staff, begins murmuring an incantation. After a 10 minutes he opens his eyes and they are glowing with a divine light. He looks around the room to see if anything in the room is radiating a magical aura.

“I’ve created some goggles that have the same effect!” Komos says seeing his friends eyes glow searching for the arcane. “Let me help you search!” ((20 investigation))
Komos searches around the place. He seems to have been able to pick up at least something magical in here. He ends up digging out a set of Magical Armor. Got Breast Plate+1 (Durability: 150 Degrade: 3)
"Wow! This is really well made!"Komos says, picking it up and holding it in front of himself to compare with the breastplate he's currently wearing before putting it on. "Everyone here seems to have left in quite a hurry... I'm beginning to think that something is wrong here..."
Sniv nods, and squints his eyes, "Something definitely feels off." As Komos pulls out and puts on the breastplate and Sniv gets a good look at it, he is a bit surprised. "A magical item left behind?! That would be one of the first things to grab if something attacked, so the attack must have happened very quickly." He thinks for a moment, "Or something else is up." Sniv looks around at the others and says, "Regardless, I think continuing to explore is our best bet. Until we have more clues, we have no way of knowing what happened or what to expect."

"I want to set out already," Varn says, and from his tense posture, it's clear that he does. "But, if you really want to continue exploring a bit more, let's continue. Now that you found such a peculiar piece of armour, I see that this place has some mystery to it. Perhaps the one responsible is a large, mean-looking monster. Go on, you may continue in front of me."
(OOC: Sorry, I'm a bit lost as to where we are. I know we entered the blacksmith's house, but that's about it. Don't need to sum it for me just yet, as the next three days will be rather busy for me too. I'll ask for a small recap when I can take enough time to read it.)

“If the blacksmith was leaving things like this behind, I wonder what else is around!” Komos says heading back towards the forge area to look around ((investigation 18)). He’s clearly excited about what he just found, and doesn’t seem to pay attention to his friend’s mood, or desire to want to be on his way.

"We may as well check downstairs while we're here." Komos says, heading that direction.

Sniv doesn't have any better ideas so he follows Komos in that direction.

Komos first riffles through the keys he’s found to see if any work, and if non do, will attempt to pick the lock ((15)).

There is nothing in this room that immedietly registers to him as magical. Maybe Komos can help.
