OOC: Ableforth Sunblight was the name of the duregar who kept Meep and his clan prisoner. I remember back at the beginning where Meep and Demalis were escaping dark dwarves so you could say that Demalis was a part of the group who escaped. Up to you. You've also heard rumors that Sunblight and his forces had come to Waterdeep at some point. 

Meep goes pale, no mean feat for a kobold. "What does Sunblight want with you?" 

Deciding things were well in hand Twitch headed back to the children and stood guard.

" Have you seen anything like that nasty thing before?"

Twitch when you ask the children that question, they both start to mutter but they notice their mother staring at them and they shake their heads. 

Roll an Insight check with advantage. 

Meep when you ask Victoro that question, he tilts his head for a moment and says nothing before Mable arrives and she looks him in the eye. "Yes Victoro, tell him why Ableforth Sunblight would attack you." 

Victoro glares and growls at Mabel before turning to the rest of you. "If we could we go to my office and discuss this further." 

He looks at Capt. Staget and adds," Captain, I'll be escorting these folks up the stairs as they investigate." 

"That's fine," Staget says. 

With that, Victoro Cassalanter begins to walk up the stairs with Mabel in tow. Who's following? 

Lussa will tag along.

Meep is following along, very invested.

Delmalis glances at Twitch and nods towards the children then moves to follow.

Twitch Insight: 19

Twitch, with that 19, you gather that these children have seen imps and other creatures like this but their mother doesn't want them to tell. 

When Lussa and Meep get to Victoro's office, he closes the door. "Years ago we made a deal with Asmodeus. My house was poor and on the edge of losing its nobility status in Waterdeep. In exchange for power, wealth and long life, my wife and I offered Asmodeus the souls of our children. Our oldest son was taken and transformed into a chain devil. Our twins, who you saw out there, are close to turning nine years old and that's when Asmodeus will take them. To try and prevent this, we tried to gather 99 souls and a 500,000 gold pieces in exchange for our children's souls. It would have worked, but we never found Nevermember's gold. Rumor had it that some adventuring party took it. I contacted you because we heard about your orphanage opening. As for Sunblight, he worships Asmodeus and I believe he wants to take the twins and present them to his master as a way to bring back his father." 

Mabel nods. "Xarathos Sunblight also worshipped Asmodeus but he and two of his sons were killed in Icewind Dale. When I searched Sunblight's fortress, I found some correspondence between Cassalanter and Sunblight confirming his story." 

Lussa frowns and she drops her eyes to the floor, "tales of such deals were...not uncommon...in the Underdark.  I always found them somewhat disturbing."  Looking Victoro in the eyes, she asks, "What are your thoughts as to what we can do to stop Sunblight and/or break this deal to save the children?"

Delmalis's eyes turn flat at the mention of the attempted bargain, having seen a number of his fellow slaves taken and used as payment for various fiendish deals. "And where did you get these 99 souls? I doubt many would offer themselves willing in such a deal. Why not offer your own lives?"

Twitch coils around the childrens legs and hisses at the mother, their eyes looking about for backup......

Lady Cassalanter glares at Twitch," Excuse me! How rude." 

The children laugh as Twitch goes around their legs and Roland walks over. "Is this your child?" asks Lady Cassalanter asks. 

"No, but they know good people when they see it," Roland says. "Come Twitch, let's follow the others upstairs." 

In Victoro's office, Victoro shakes his head. "Or own lives wouldn't be enough. We attempted to bring in family members, most of them extended family and distant relatives, to acquire the 99 souls. As for stopping Sunblight, I believe he's close as he was the one who summoned the imp. I don't know where he could be hiding."

Twitch follows Roland reluctantly upstairs glancing back at the children as they do so.

Roland and Twitch arrive just as Victoro finishes telling the group about his plight. He eyes everyone. "You have my permission to search the Entrance Hall, Library, Children's Play Room, Reading Roon, Foyer, Family Dining Room, and the Kitchen. You may also question the guests if you like."

Twitch nods to the others then scurries off towards the Childrens Room and began searching, from there they would move to the Reading Room and then the Library.

Delmalis makes note of where the indicated rooms are and moves to go search them, "We should probably split up to search it all quickly. Meep, would you follow me, I could use some help." As soon as they are out of sight of Victoro and the others and starts looking for any rooms other than those indicated to search.

Sybil who stayed with the party looks around for a quiet corner to cast Message, "What's' taking so long, it's a job offer right or is it a long lecture? You can reply to this message,"

Meep goes with Delmalis, and hears Sybil in his head. Whispering back, he says "My old owner, a grey dwarf named Sunblight, is somewhere close by - he wants to kidnap the children for a sacrifice. Spread out and search."

Sybil let out a slight sigh as she slips her rod back onto her dress. She takes a few breath before turning toward the party. I assume party goers has returned to just standing around talking about the situation as the investigation goes on. She'll look around for any group of dwarves before starting mingle with party-goers with question along the lines of "Excuse me, I do apologize but looking for my business partner's acquaintance, A dwarf fellow of pale complexation. Have you seen them?"
