Twitch continued toward the chanting, unsheathing their claws...

You continue down the hall until you come to a balcony and a spiral staircase. Mounted on the back wall of an alcove to the north is an 18-foot-high, 9-foot-wide portrait in a gilded frame. The picture depicts a strikingly handsome and impeccably dressed bearded man with small horns protruding from his forehead. He carries a ruby-tipped cane. Do you want to go right, left, or South and to the left? 

Twitch looks at the picture suspiciously but heads to the right...

Delmalis glares at the portrait, "Meep, do you think you could burn that?" 

He then stands and listens carefully. Perception: 8

Twitch, you go to the right and you notice this is the crypt. Several of the names on the graves are Cassalanter. 

Demalis, you stand still and listen as the chanting dies down, but it's followed by the sound of chains rattling. 

" Dead people don't chant........................usually......."

Twitch turned about and headed left.

OOC: My mistake, the chanting was coming from the left. Twitch didn't hear chanting where they were going. 

Delmalis quietly moves to the left.

Demalis, you move to the left and approach a closed door.

Meep's Stealth: 14

"Absolutely," Meep whispers to Delmalis. Meep sends a Fire Bolt streaking toward the painting, near the bottom, intending to set it alight. 

Meep, you set that painting on fire and for a moment you think the person in the painting gives you an annoyed look before it burns into flames. 

Silence continues to fill the next room before one voice goes "Master Osvaldo, you're back!"

"Yes and it's all thanks to my good friend here," A young voice responds. 

A third voice, a familar one, says "Don't mention it, Ossy. If anyone asks, just tell them your old pal Bill helped you out." 

Delmalis turns to Meep and mouths quietly, "Bill? Tomb demon?"

Meep's eyes go wide, and he nods in agreement.

As you both exchange nods, you hear "Just remember our agreement Ossy. I gotta run. Remember, reality is an illusion, buy gold, trip trolls and crush skulls. Bye!"

Bill's voice seems to echo throughout the cavern until silence passes. After a moment, Osvaldo says "I guess I should see my parents and my siblings." 

" Kill Bill?", Twitch queried the others.

Delmalis shakes his head, and opens the door.

Demalis, you open the door and find three people dressed in nice clothes as well as what appears to be a 9-year-old boy coming down from an altar bathed in dim light. He somewhat resembles Victoro Cassalanter. You also see similar paintings to the one Meep burned, except they look like they're covered in yellow paint. The light begins to illuminate the room and there are several dead bodies on the floor, all in red robes. 

The three figures draw their weapons, but the eyes you all and holds up his hand. He asks," Did my father send you? You're not Asmodeus cultists are you?"

Delmalis holds up his hands, and smiles, showing no more than the tips of his new fangs, "We're not cultists, but your father knows we're here. He didn't mention you. Interesting decoration though."

Osvaldo shrugs. "Hard not to mention me since I'm his oldest son. Of course mother and father have been telling people I'm away studying in Baldur's Gate. Truth is they kept me chained in the attic, well they did when I was a chain devil. I'm sure they didn't tell anyone that they sold my soul and the souls of my siblings in exchange for their wealth. They wanted to buy my siblings' souls in exchange for gold but you messed that up." 

Meep cocks his head. "You were a chain devil? You recovered?"
