(Do you talk to the one still alive or investigate that gem pouch?)

Max will talk. Also: should we be concerned about more lava?

”Who are you? I’m so sorry about your friends, but you shouldn’t be here alone.”

Xunhar will take advantage of the receded lava to begrudgingly pull the survivor human away from the immediate dangerous area, "Foolish kivvin!" he lets go of him nearer to Maximilian and takes the opportunity to discreetly look at the kobolds nearby and nod at the direction of the gem pouch, hoping they get the hint.

     After noticing Xunhar's silent message, Zenga nudges Fred in the ribs and nods to the pouch.

     "Ugh," Fred says lightly.  Then "Heeeey!  Oh!"

     Finally getting it, Fred pushes Moxo in the direction of the pouch.

     "Heeeey, what I do?" Moxo asks, confuses.

     Fred bends his head to the side, indicating the pouch.

     "You're neck ok?  Don't blame me if it's not!" Moxo says.

     "The neck is fine," Fred says, nodding over towards the pouch a couple more times.

     "It doesn't look fine.  It's all scaly and keeps jerking your head over towards that... Oh hey, a pouch!" Moxo says.

     Moxo rushes over and grabs the pouch, looking inside of it and pulling out the gem.  Moxo immediately bites the gem, evaluating it, and then shoves it in one of his own pouches.  Returning to Fred, Moxo hands him the pouch.  "Look what I found!  Always good to have an extra pouch or two!"

     Fred groans.

     "You're neck really bothering you, huh?" Moxo asks, and starts giving Fred a massage...

Armalis limps over and nearly falls down beside the kobolds.  He looks badly burned, on the brink of consciousness, actually.  "I'm going to need a rest."

     "Oh, goodness!  Yes, yes, by all means rest!  Rest all the rests!" Zenga says, trying to make Armalis comfortable and casting a Cure Wounds for 11 upon them.  ((Sorry, forgot!  Anyone else need a bit of healing?  Zenga has one spell left...))

"Thanks, friend." Armalis pats Zenga on the back.

(As a matter of fact, there's 9 gems in the pouch. I'll describe them in the spoiler for the Kobolds.)

The human man looks at Xunhar, Asha, and Sarith in terror, but answers Max "Darvin. We're here looking for riches. And are you drow slaves?"

(It is a valid question, given the 3 Drow and the Kobolds, which are a fairly common drow slave race.)

"We had been captured by them, but we were able to escape. Some kind of event or something happened that allowed us to get out." Varnos would look towards the way the lava came from, frowning. "So are we sure more lava isn't going to come this way?"

Xunhar bluntly lets go of the startled human, taking a few steps away "Let's hope at least our pursuers will be discouraged by this" he points to the place where the lava came from, "We should move away from this tunnel, get the wounded to a place they can take a breather." 

     "Yes, we should move," Zenga agrees.

     "Definitely.  Can rest elsewhere," Fred chimes in.

     "I got nothing in my pockets!" Moxo exclaims before being smacked in the head by the other two.

“Does this mean you know the way out, Darvin?” Max looks at the man excitedly as he tries to keep everyone moving away from the lava flow. 

"No, I'm afraid we became lost in these blasted tunnels."

“I suppose that would’ve been too easy.” Max sighs a lament.

“There’s nothing for it but to keep moving. Again, I’m sorry for the loss of your friends.”

Armalis hauls himself up.  "Who knows if another lava flow will come.  Xunhar is right, we need a better place.  Let's move."

Xunhar will move about checking the wounded, trying to help up those that manage to get to their feet or carry those who don't, "Come on. The scouts behind us wouldn't have stopped, they are gaining ground on us right now, we need to move." and he sets out trying to find the way forward.

You get back on the trail. A few hours later, you camp for the night.

Watch schedule?

Looking for a suitable place to rest, maybe a more secluded spot behind some zhurkwood mushrooms would be nice, but settling for whatever is available. Xunhar makes a quick head count as the other survivors stream in, "Hmm... We have seventeen... Maybe ten or less combatants." he ponders for a moment scratching his chin, "We should set up watches without counting on the wounded. I'll take first watch, I can trance later." 

1st watch: Xunhar and ? (guessing 2 hours for each watch and 8 hours for the whole rest)
2nd watch: Fred and Moxo
3rd watch: Armalis and ?
4th watch: Zenga and Maxmilian

Fred and Moxo will sit a watch together, Zenga can sit with someone too?
