Rinnill smiles at Venrila. She can see that this comes easily to the newcomer. "As I said, I'm looking for my father and brother. I have to admit that I've been pretty much stumbling around down here. I've played in caves with my brother plenty when we were small, but nothing like this, and never for so long. It's disorienting. I have no idea what time of day it is, or even if I've been walking in circles." He smiles again, this time a little, self-abasing grin. "I was humming. I didn't think about the fact that I was calling attention to myself, but music has always been part of me. It's soothing. When I came around that bend, there was that creature. It was waiting for me. I think I'm lucky you came along."
"Where did you see the emblem of my god before?"
"Oh, I recognized it immediately. My whole community worships Eilistraee." He looks down at Venrila's shield. "Yours looks a little different than what I'm used to, but it's basically the same. Eilistraee lead my people to the surface several generations ago, and she continues to guide and protect us."
"Where do you come from?"
"We call our community Dyuur," Rinnill says, sounding both proud and homesick. "I'm afraid I can't give you directions. It'll be a miracle if I ever get home again." He grins at Venrila. "So, have you all been together long?"
When the other travellers reach the fungi filled cavern Vierna greets them. "This should be a good place to rest before continuing." She says coming down from her vantage point on the boulder. "I have prepared something to eat if want. It is not much but those ones are quite tasty in my humble opinion" Vierna points to some prepared mushrooms in a small clearing where the travellers can rest. While resting she tells the others. "I have travelled the underdark for many years now and for the first time I don´t feel quite at home here. Something has changed. I have a feeling something terrible has happened. Do you sense it to? What can it mean?" She asks the others.
When rested Vierna points to the tunnel they are supposed to take and leaves to scout ahead. "If any of you can keep up and move quietly I wouldn´t mind some company" she adds smiling before leaving.
(OOC: Anything I should know about mushrooms and such or should I just come up with stuff?)
"Listen, those screams could mean trouble for us, or some other traveller could be in need of help, urgently." Vierna grabs her bow and moves towards the sounds. Perception to establish direction of commotion:16
"I will go and investigate, but I wouldn´t mind some backup" Vierna smiles grimly and moves out.
"I will go and investigate, but I wouldn´t mind some backup"
"None should walk these tunnels alone", Xunhar says as he rises from reverie, "Asha, stay safe with the others."he says to the priestess nearby and moves to follow Vierna.

Rinnill's head jerks at the sound of shrieks and screams. He gets to his feet and draws his shortsword. He does look to leave the campsite with Vierna and Xunhar, but he turns his head to try to discern from what direction the sounds are coming.
"What is this vile trickery" Vierna says, her words not nearly as confident as you´ve been used to. She tries more desperately to determine from where the sounds emanates.
"Yeah that beast wasnt one to take on on your own, luckily we heard you. And good to hear there are still villages worshipping her, I sometimes feel they are here less and less, but that might also be the underdark talking. I was travelling alone myself, only just surviving thanks to Elistraee and than after some earth tremors I came about these people and we just kind of decided it might be best to travel together.")
When she hears the moans venrila sits right up, longsword in hand, but knowing she isnt the stealthiest she stays a bit to the back, waiting for more information and ready to protect those with the group that need it.

Varnus looks towards the direction that Venrila looked in, drawing the sword out as he sighed again. "Just one night I'd like to be able to actually rest without having something show up..." He whispered, shifting slightly as he kept an Eldritch Blast at the ready.

They seem to be coming from all of your companions.
Still covering her ears Vierna shouts to the others. "Let´s move on, I don´t know about you but these noises are really getting to me. Hopefully it is a local phenomena." Vierna then moves to grab her pack and prepares to leave the cavern.
"So how did you end up in that fight?"

As the party sets up camp, a low moan begins to echo through the tunnels, joined in short order by shrieks and screams of pain.
"Listen, those screams could mean trouble for us, or some other traveller could be in need of help, urgently." Vierna grabs her bow and moves towards the sounds.

At first, Vierna thinks she has a direction, but then it seems to suddenly change. It's at that moment Xunhar realizes
the sounds are extraplanar in nature.

he also hears them coming from his own mouth.

DM:
Do the noises coming from Rinnill stop? Are there moans and screams coming from everyone?
No, they actually seem to get louder. They are coming from all around you.
(OOC: Did Vierna learn anything, see post # 451)
They seem to be coming from all of your companions.
Vierna covers her ears in a desperate attempt to keep the noises out.
Knowledge to determine if this is some foul magic:17
Vierna is completely stumped.
Still covering her ears Vierna shouts to the others. "Let´s move on, I don´t know about you but these noises are really getting to me. Hopefully it is a local phenomena." Vierna then moves to grab her pack and prepares to leave the cavern.
