Harley’s entry causes a stir of commotion in the chamber. Immediately, the elven bandit springs to his feet with his crossbow at hand. Hulil breaks from her trance, her blue-streaked face twisting toward the door, yet her movements are slow and labored. She gasps, producing a fog of breath even in the heat of the fire. The tattooed elf at her side moves fast, drawing a scimitar and standing to move protectively in front of Hulil.
“W-wait, Raegrin...” she stammers, clutching his arm and pulling herself to her feet. She points at Harley. “Know that y-you’re in the presence of a f-favored of the Dragonqueen, the great T-T-Tiamat! Lay down your weapon or be struck down! Tulgi, you say? You should know she d-died over a year ago! Now speak true, what're y-you doing here?”
Insight DC 14:
Hulil is lying to test whether you’ve actually met Tulgi.

Seeing Harley stride forward, Daelnar figures that if conversation fails, he'd best be somewhere near the front of the line for plan B. He moves forward and stands a little ways off to Harley's left, making sure that both barbarians have room to ready their weapons and engage the three in the room if needed. As her conversation with Hulil begins, Daelnar listens and considers the strange statement by Hulil

Red Chanter steps out from the shadow to Harley's right flank with empty hands half-raised and a smirk on her face.
"Seems like that great white head of hers is favoring you a bit too much lately! But as you can see, we have weapons but aren't waving them around like lunatics." She eyes the elf with the crossbow. "We aren't here to harm you unless we need to defend ourselves. Unless there's a very convincing imposter who's been posing as your sister for some time, we spoke to her earlier today. She suffers from the same ailment as you. Now, what kind of trinkets have you been squirreling away from Eiselcross? We're positive that's the source of the curse but we need more information if we're going to find a cure in time."
Red said everything that had to be said here, Katia was only waiting for reaction with others looking at the bandits/cultists queen not without a pity. The idea that someone honestly expecting them to drop the weapons and ... what were they wanting them to do? Praise the dragon queen?! - was too laughable to think about.
Hulil grunts. “Right. Stand down.” She gestures a shaky hand toward Raegrin and the elven bandit. “The Dragon Queen has s-sent these ones.” She gestures at Red. “Well, d-don’t just stand there, Ms. Whiskers. C-come. Sit.” With a groan she nearly falls back into her seat on the chair, snuggling into her cloak. "Y-you broke me from my prayers. The Queen sent me a good vision this time. Fire and brimstone. It was c-cozy.”
“So Tulgi, huh? She’s got it too. F-f-frigid woe, they call it. I’ve only heard rumors about it. Explorers in Eiselcross sometimes die to it. My guess? It’s o-one of the b-b-blue v-vials Tulgi stole from that shop in town. That crazy Urgon brought it b-back across the s-s-sea. It was cracked, bleeding that nice b-blue color.”
“I was preparing to head to Shadycreek Run, to s-sell the remaining artifacts and try to buy a cure. But if you have a cure, I’ll trade you for it with the r-rest of them. Move over.” She elbows Reagrin off the chest, then hops off herself, revealing that the chest lid is carved with the face of a dragon. She speaks a prayer to Tiamat, and the chest lids opens with a barely audible hiss.
The chest contains the rest of the treasure found by Urgon Wenth—a gilded scroll case covered in a cosmological map of the multiverse (worth 15 gp), a jade statuette of a storm giant (25 gp), a quiver containing six +1 arrows, and a silver ring set with a jasper stone (50 gp). It also holds Hulil’s wealth, a heavy sack full with coins, and a receipt indicating that Hulil sold a blue glass vial for 100 gp.
“One of the vials I emptied out, and used it to rig this chest. L-lucky for you that Tiamat designed this meeting. This,” she says, waving the receipt, “is from where I sold the other vial. To Irven Liel, a human m-merchant staying at the Jolly Dwarf inn in Palebank Village while traveling with his f-family to Uthodurn.”
“So, as I say, we come to an agreement. You can k-keep these priceless treasures from a forgotten age, and promise to deliver a d-dose of the cure to me once you figure it out. Yea?”
"If we find it - you will get it." Katia was genuine in her promise, it was already too later for two people she knew and liked. Hulil could be a cultist and a thief, but even cultists did not deserve such fate. She took the receipt -the idea that the liquid started the disease seemed likely. "Do hope the merchant would not touch the liquid. Does he even know what he bought?"
Shagar's usual scowl becomes even more pronounced and her face turns down a bit at the mention of Uthodurn. "IF a cure can be found, we will return a dose to you." Shagar eyes the +1 arrows
Harley considers that it might not be fair to take all of Hulil's treasures for a promise of a single dose of cure, if they even find the cure at all. Upon remembering Hulil's methods of gaining the wealth though, she decides that accepting the extra coin wouldn't be so bad. "Fair deal,"she says, "We will do our best to help you." Harley then moves to take the sack of coins as she awaits the answer to Katia's question.
"Aie lil one, that's the plan. Never a better way to beat a plague than to cure all and stop it in its wake" Agrees the old man; although killing the plague is faster it never helps when the plague comes back later. Better to find a cure or cause and erase that instead.
Adding to Katia's inquiries, "Unless yer uncle knew what it was, doubtful any others do."
Hulil nods at Malik. "I didn't know what I was selling, so there's no way Irven Liel could've known. You move quick, you might still find him at the Jolly Dwarf."
"That had to be a very pretty color for the merchant to pay 100gp for it. Yet, or he could not really refuse the offer." But Katia mumbled that quietly and was on her way outside, following others.
"As I s-say, these are artifacts from Eis-selcross. For the right collector, 100gp w-would be a bargain." Hulil becks the elven bandit. "Steve, help them with the chest and show them out the c-cave. Raegrin, prepare to l-leave for Shadycreek R-Run." Hulil claims her coin pouch. "The relics is yo-yurs. But this, this I'll be needin' for the j-journey, and to pay my crew."
Trained and familiar with her handlers, Old Croaker emerges and ferries you lot across the pond. Steve bypasses the central cavern area, explaining that it's simply full of aggressive bats. Arriving at the pool near the entrance, he hesitates. "Looks like our wooden plank's been stolen. Any idea how to get across the pool without taking a swim?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"You can thank your crew for that. Looks like they were bitter that we got the jump on them and decided to leave us a little gift. Let me climb over and see if they left it outside the cave mouth."
"It be a shame, that big ole frog can't be hoppin over fer us t' cross on his back on this one too." Daelnar doesn't relish the idea of making a swim thorugh the icy water, especially not with the prospect of travel outside afterwards. "If'n the cat can use a hammer, we could rig some rope t' climb across on, though it sounds less effort to just swim it..."

"Nope. I'm ready to go," Harley says, backing up her words by striding forward and around the bend, hoping that the others are following.
"Greetings. We were sent by Tulgi to assist her sister Hulil." She looks at the dwarf. "We hope to find a cure for your ailment."
