Conscious again, Ramal goes over to Layla while colosseum medics tend to her, “I’m sorry, you gave me a second chance and I squandered it.” He then heads to the Glory.
Basil leads Fontanne, Lawrence, and Paren down to select their prizes. In the room...
Tier 1:
"Take any one item. We're well equipped." The room contains every item from Chapter 5 of the Player's Handbook weighing 70 pounds or less, armor of varying sizes, instruments, tool kits. There are also spell scrolls, every first level spell is present (as well as spell scrolls of a level for which a magic user of the characters new level would have slots for), and an encyclopedia of knowledge. Reading these books will grant you proficiency with any one of tool kit or any one language, depending which book you choose. The books are magically infused to allow easy retention, but the magic is lost once used.
Upper Tier:
Alternatively the victor may choose an item from a magically infused chest that summons 10 randomly selected magic items to choose from (rarity determined by level). Alternatively they may exchange a magic item for another item of their choosing of the same rarity or lower, if the administrator has the requested item in his extensive collection. "You name it, we've probably got one somewhere."
The next match will see who can come out on top between Josias, Toren, and Baryk. I'll wait til, after the level-1s are out of initiative to post details.
Fontanne, Lawrence, and Paren each earn 600xp to advance to level-3 as well as a purse of 200gp.
Urrk, Ramal, and Layla wake feeling more than a bit roughed up in the medic's office. The head medic is looking over the girls. You've been out long enough that you may have missed their match. You each gain 400xp and 80gp as you awake the medic informs you that you'll still be able to get a prize. He leaves the girls to their own devices and in the care if his aids if they need (they don't) as he leads you to the prize room where...

Awakening Layla looks to Ramal upon hearing him speak. "It is not a thing to worry about Ramal. We simply did not have enough damage." She smiled at him vaguely as she put her hand up to her shoulder where the Dove sits, taking it on her finger she holds it in front of her Chest. She chooses a Vial of Acid also from the room.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The next match will show the skills of some new talent. Two teams of our newest fighters.
The fighters enter the arena one by one as Basil introduces them for the first time...
A little (very little) person with a disproportionately large head. He's still studying a spellbook as he enters the arena were he's startled by the roar of the crowd. He wears no armor and carries a sword on his belt... Or is that a dagger, the proportions make it hard to tell. "Ponder this, little fellow, come to study the affects of battle on the body first hand? Let's hear it for... Eldon Dimblesworth!"
A dark, cloaked man in light leather armor with a pair of dueling swords on his belt and an iron collar around his neck clutches a small crossbow. "A servant of the Underdark fighting on behalf of the dark elves, does this man seek to advance their malicious ideals? Or are his motives somewhere else? Shmitty Jackson!"
A hawk like bird-folk equipped with a dueling sword and a simple bow. He appears to prefer if all eyes were not on him. "We appear to have become a regular stop for migrating bird-folk. Give it up for... 'Polly' Quaf!"
An Elven girl with a knotted branch and a worn out wooden shield seems equally put off by the attention, but she is ready for battle. Her long black hair is woven with twigs. She wears a cloak of moss and leaves and armor of leather and hardened oak. "The forest-folk come to this place as the battle calls to us all... Grianne Wildpaw!"
A soft looking fellow with a blue cape and shock white hair holds a large crystal in one fist. His cape whips in a momentary chill breeze. "Looks like you chose a cool day to come out from the library, maybe a battle will help warm you up! Eider, The Frigid!"
On the other end if the spectrum a massive orcish brute with reddish skin towers over the others. This guy looks like he's never seen a book in his life. All his time has surely been focused on training his body. He wears no armor an carries a massive axe. "Peas and rice your big! Everet Bernardson!"
And the turtle-man, Nylah's favorite to win the match. He wears a belt and a thick green shell, and he carries a huge sword. "Reliable and strong the Tortle are accustomed to barren desserts and deep oceans alike, facing foes in the arena again. Calgin!"
Eldon will be teamed up with 4 Polly and 5 Grianne.... (Miscounted need one more)... On this team? 1...yes
And one more 3... (Random class)... Warlock, a tiefling woman with dark magenta skin and two small black horns clears her throat as she leans against her carved staff adorned with a glowing orb. She wears intricately embroidered black robes over some leather armor. The robes have a slit halfway up the back for the comfort of her tail. Basil turns, "and of course, the lovely mistress. Dahme'dre Raine!"
