Alarion flinches a bit at Grzak's touch, his entire body a bit sore from slamming into Klarg twice as hard as he could. He replies "Thank you, though I'm not sure how effective I was." He turns to Kathrine. "Absolutely. I would prefer diplomacy to bloodshed any day. I am not terrible at the social arts myself, though I still have a long way to go in that area."
In the aftermath of battle, the cavern is mostly silent, except for the sound of rushing water through a dark opening on the left (north) wall. Rough-hewn stairs lead upwards through the opening.
The firepit full of glowing red coals gives off dim light. Crates and sacks are piled in the far eastern end of the cave. A dead wolf and bugbear lie at your feet, an unconscious goblin lies behind you on the slope down to the garbage chute.
Gabriel (and others) can roll a perception check (or take other action) to look for the other 2 goblins that had been shooting arrows from behind the crates.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Thank you my friend" Gabriel says to Grzak taking putting his axe away, and taking his sword. "With the death of, who I hope is, their leader I agree Katherine we might beable to talk them into surrender."
While talking Gabriel tries in the dim light to scan the room. Silently he whispers his thanks to Torm.
Grzak will heft the Morningstar and swing it nonchalantly, getting the feel of it and its’ balance. He will place himself as best he can between the team and where the arrows last came from. He will swell up to the biggest size he can to provide a shield for more incoming arrows, should they come.
While trying to perceive if the goblins are still near ...
Perception: 22 plus the continuing Emboldening Bond: 1
Grzak will attempt a conciliatory tone and shout out to the goblins, “Come now, there’s no need for you to die. Surrender and live.”

"Hey there!" Kathrine says as she steps forward. Blood still stains the shoulder of her armor and cloak, though the wound underneath is healed. "We don't want to have to hurt any more of you, please surrendor and save us all the trouble." She is calling out as loud as she can, though realizes her voice is not likely to go beyond this chamber, with the loud sound of water coming from the other tunnel. She is trying to get those goblins that were shooting at them before at least.
Two goblins freeze in mid-flight as they register that you can see them and are calling to them. They were just about to dash from behind the crates towards the stairs from the looks of it. They look with fear upon the half-orc wielding Klarg's morningstar and with confusion upon the cleric and her kind tone of voice.
Frightened voices speaks in Goblinoid from the back of the cavern.
For anyone who understands that language:
"He kill Klarg! He new Master?" a goblin squeaks.
"Why that lady be nice sounding? What she say?" murmurs the other goblin.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grzak will muster a smile that tries not to terrify the goblins. He will lower the morningstar to a non-threatening position and use his free hand to wave the goblins to come closer.
"Do you speak Common? Come. Come closer. Would you like to earn favor with us?"
Persuasion (if they understand me): 18 plus the lingering Emboldening Bond: 4

"Seems like you have this under control..." Kathrine says to Grzak with a smile. She winces as she places a hand on her wounded shoulder. "Think you can have your new soldiers gather the rest of the goblins for us?"
"Yes, we are most merciful to those who help us. And swift death comes to those who oppose us."
A part of Grzak would relish crushing these little skulls while they grovel. Blaming them for the capture and torture that was inflicted upon him. But he could not be sure that these particular goblins were involved. Instead, he continues, "You see my friends here, yes?" Gesturing to the other members of the party, "You will help them equally, together or separate. Do you understand?"
Grzak waits but a moment before demanding in a loud and stern command, "SWEAR IT!"

(OOC: Looks like we’ve got a developing good cop (Kathrine) bad cop (Grzak) deal going on where the rest of the team can pipe in somewhere along the spectrum.)
"I will be fine." Kathrine says with a friendly smile at the goblin. "Cringer is it? Well I am Kathrine." She moves towards the crates. "Let's see what else is all in these, along with those drinks you mentioned." She would start to open crates to see what is in them.
As Cringer leads Kathrine to the crates, Grzak addresses the other goblin. “When I was brought here, my gear was taken from me. I want it all back. Do you know where it is?”

Yeah, Alarion likely is a bit messed up from slamming into Klarg.
Grzak will heft the Morningstar and swing it nonchalantly, getting the feel of it and its’ balance. He will place himself as best he can between the team and where the arrows last came from. He will swell up to the biggest size he can to provide a shield for more incoming arrows, should they come.

for Katherine and Grzak:
Two goblins freeze in mid-flight as they register that you can see them and are calling to them. They were just about to dash from behind the crates towards the stairs from the looks of it. They look with fear upon the half-orc wielding Klarg's morningstar and with confusion upon the cleric and her kind tone of voice.

(DM will for now play Rowan's character until hearing back from him. I'll post in the group PM within the next day regarding ideas going forward)
Rowan goes to stabilize the goblin that Alarion knocked out as well as bind him with rope and gag.
(Wouldn't need to be stabilized, non-lethal damage makes them stable when they hit 0 hp.)
Grzak will muster a smile that tries not to terrify the goblins. He will lower the morningstar to a non-threatening position and use his free hand to wave the goblins to come closer.

"Yes, do you speak common?" Kathrine would call, not understanding goblin herself.
The goblins blink in confusion when Grzak 'smiles', glance at each other, then slowly creep forward and prostrate themselves.
"New Master! We obey!"
"You mightier than Klarg, give mercy, we help you!"
"Seems like you have this under control..." Kathrine says to Grzak with a smile. She winces as she places a hand on her wounded shoulder. "Think you can have your new soldiers gather the rest of the goblins for us?"
"Nice lady, you hurt?" the smaller of the goblins looks up at Katherine. "I help you lady, you give mercy?"
Upon seeing that Katherine will not hurt him, he waves behind him at the crates and bags. "Good drink in there, it help you. Cringer find it for you?"
"Yes, we are most merciful to those who help us. And swift death comes to those who oppose us."
