"That's quite remarkable. I've always been fond of elvenkind. So many little tricks." Ezmerelda says. "It's good to know that you are never truly alone."
She pauses for a moment, considering in asking the next question, but does anyway. "Could you summon a pig? I'm starving!" She juts her elbow a little too hard into Ireena's side, but manages to get a weak smile from her, or at least that was the intent.
The burgomaster sees you all return, and with an interesting story to tell, i'm sure, he leads you to the comfort of his home where you all can rest for the night.
"Sorry count them out Bors. Scout, Sniffles, and Celty. All three charges have already been used up. Though maybe tomorrow you'll get to meet Bakin." She shakes her head and chuckles to herself.
OOC > So no pool healing for broken hands? :( What are the in-game effects of the broken hand, then?
Kia is startled by the lightning, but like Martha, had not rushed to keep Ireena from the shade of Sergei. "I, too, am unsure of the wisdom of keeping these two souls apart, for their love would seem to stand against Strahd, but Ireena," she addresses the woman, "I know this, whether you are called Ireena or Tatyana, you are not someone else. You are always you, and those who seek to believe you something else must stand aside for who you are. Your soul is yours, and hers, perhaps, because you are the same person. Trust in yourself."
After that, she drops into contemplative thought, tail waving slowly, padding along with the rest of the party.

“Agreed. Whatever the case, don’t question yourself. We need you in one piece if we’re going to stop this, not two.” Martha says as she walks along with the Bors and Kia.

If Briella heals you, consider your hand mended, Kia. So, to update the adventure, there are basically two things left to do: Find Strahds nemesis in the town of Vallaki, and head over to Castle Ravenloft, where you will find the Sunsword in the tomb of Strahds parents.
Rest up, yes a long rest, get your spells and weapons ready, for at dawn, the adventures continues to the town of Vallaki, east down the road from Krezk.
Imryll, a late joiner to this quest, witnesses most of the Ireena/Tatyana incident at the pool with her mouth agape and a rather confused look on her face. When Ezmerelda makes her "interesting bunch" comment afterwards, Imryll cannot help but burst out in nervous laughter. "You have NO idea, Ezmerelda, no idea how true that statement rings."
“Oh don’t get us wrong, Imyrll, this is SUPER weird, but I think at this point we’ve just become numb to it. We’ve had a hanging body explode on us, two Germanic werewolves that seemed a littletoo enthusiastic about fighting us, and we’ve watched a marching order of ghosts traipse up to Castle Ravenloft... it’s been a weird few days. Plus that baby room too...”

Grishkar watched from afar as the events at the pool unfolded. The commotion of Irenea being pulled away from the pool seemed mildly interesting, but the display of power which leveled the site truly caught the wizard's attention. As he followed behind the others, he mused to himself, "I do hope Castle Ravenloft has an extensive library..."

Grishkar produces an abundance of paper - enough for an encyclopedic amount of notes - and listens intently. No, he does not share any with Martha and instead denies having any on hand.

When they enter the house, Briella pulls Kia aside and has her sit down in a chair so she can look at her hand. Wrapping both her hands around Kia's injured one she takes a moment to meditate and channels some divine energy into a simple healing spell.A small white glow covers the hand as the bones magically reset themselves and the swelling retreats. After the hand is healed, Briella places one of her hands on Kia's shoulder, gives her a small smile and a nod, and then retires for the evening.
Except Celty who can't fit through the doors and just stands outside eating grass.
The Old Svalich Road meanders into a valley watched over by dark, brooding mountains to the north and south. The woods recede, revealing a sullen mountain burg surrounded by a wooded palisade. Thick fog presses up against this wall, as though looking for a way inside, hoping to catch the town aslumber. The dirt road ends at a set of sturdy iron gates with a pair of shadowy figures standing behind them. Planted in the ground and flanking the road outside the gates are a half-dozen pikes with wolves' heads impaled on them.
A 15 foot high wall encloses the town, its vertical logs held together with thick ropes and mortar. The top of each log has been sharpened to a point. Wooden scaffolding hugs the inside of the palisade 12 feet off the ground, enabling guards to peer over the wall there.
You approach the town from the west, the two gate guards look at you suspiciously, but, surprisingly, give you no trouble but with a few questions as they let you in. You are now inside the gates. You can now either:
EXPLORE one of the N1- N9 locations,
OR
TALK to one of the townsfolks with a successful DC 10 CHA, CHA (Persuation), or CHA (Insight) roll. Each success from you guys will yield one bit of "local lore". There is only so much you can learn from the townsfolk, so once all lore has been revealed, I will let you guys know.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Briella will walk over to the closest guard.
"Excuse me, my name is Briella and me and my travelling companions are fairly new to this world. Can you tell me anything about this little village you have here?"

"Hadn't thought of that, yeah, summon a pig!"

Briella shrugs her shoulders.

“Ok, so that wasn’t a hallucination. Good to know.” Martha remarks as she recalls the girl with the doll.

Seeing that Imryll is devistatingly <not> charismatic, and being rather homely, we'll stick with the Insight roll: 16.
....aaaaaaaand, where the hell did that roll come out of?! It must be the placental goo that did the charm.
Imryll, upon spying what appears to be the largest building they can see (N1), suggests we go there first.
