Outside, once the party is reassembled, Gorm Diabhal asks if anyone knows how to access the sewers from around here. "Not looking forward to it, honestly,' Gorm says. "But the Kenku said something about following the yellow signs in the sewers. Seems like our best lead...?"
Jeremiah is quickly able to find a circular metal cover inset in the pavement. Making sure no one is watching, you open it up and climb down. A putrid stream flows along this sewer tunnel, which leads in two directions. In one direction, you see a tiny symbol drawn on the wall in yellow chalk: a palm-sized circle with ten equidistant spokes radiating out from its circumference. As you continue down the sewer following the symbol, at every intersection there is another pointing you in the correct direction.
After an hour of following signs through the tunnels, you come to a three-way intersection where a ladder leads up into a stone shaft capped by a circular metal cover. One of the familiar chalk symbols is marked on a wall nearby, and floating near the symbol is a spherical, grapefruit-sized creature with a bulging central eye and four stumpy eyestalks. It bares its teeth at you.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Hey little guy, wha..,” Gorm says, trying to talk to the creature the likes of which he’s never seen before. But even as his words start, two daggers go whipping by him towards the bouncey, floating looking thing.
“Whoa!” He adds, quickly, suddenly realizing talk has been taken off the table. Instead Gorm closes in on the thing and slashed out with his short sword, then reversed momentum to attempt to strike it with an elbow..,
(With in range, it isn't a huge sewer. When we reach the hideout I'll post a map of it for us to reference)
Before anyone else can move Jeremiah blasts a the creature with acid and it falls. All that is left is a quickly dissolving pile of eyes and eye stalks. Looking around there is a ladder leading up and a symbol that you have been following leading down the left hand tunnel. Where would you like to go?
‘It looked like a mini Beholder. I didn’t think we should take chances...’ explains Jeremiah. ‘That’s left my arcane energies a little out of whack though, minor magic only until I get a rest of some sort..’

Jeremiah nods to the others, and heads for the street to wait for them before the guards start getting too nosey...

‘I hate the sewers.’ sighs Jeremiah ‘Bad places - rats and worse...’ he shudders.
’Still, if I’m going down there I’m glad not to be alone.’
"Perhaps someone at the tavern we were at would know of a way into the sewers?" Guardian asks as he secures his axe and shield.
‘I’m sure we can find a sewer!’ scoffs Jeremiah, looking for one of the telltale grates...

Jeremiah looks as surprised as anyone, looking from his fingers to the remains of the flying thing, and back to his fingers.
’Hmmm, so that’s how that works...’ he says to himself.
"Most impressive young one." Guardian says, looking at Jeremiah. "I assume we are going to continue to follow the symbols?" He asks the group.
“Do we usually kill the doormen in this group?” Gorm asks, taking an exaggeratedly large step over the melting ball of eyes.
