After a short bit some clerics of the Raven Queen come in. They silently nod to you and load Gorm and Vi onto cots and cover them with blankets before carrying them out.
Volo nods to you and says, "Well then, off to the manor then?"
He leads you to Trollskull Alley. There is a grand, although slightly run down, four story tall building. "Here she is. Used to be a tavern if I remember correctly. Been a little while though. I figure a little bit of cleaning up and fixing and she can function as a place of business again should you desire or simply a grand home for you. What do you say?"
(Feel free to take some time. The next arc of the story is very flexible and mostly exploring the city. So you can come in at most any point. I'll toss up a recruitment post for one more person.)
(OOC - sorry for no posts, super busy day today visiting folks for my Dad’s birthday for a sit outside lunch and nice chat. Will post tomorrow when my brain is working!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jeremiah looks over to Volo, still a little overwhelmed. 'What happened to it? Why did it close down?' he wanders initially around the outside, to see what he can determine about the building, or what he might recall of it.
Volo shakes his head, "The owner of the tavern unfortunately died about about a year ago. The place has stood empty since."
Make an insight check.
The building looks like it could use some love. It looks like it used to be quite a nice place. Even now it is a solid place and well made. Definitely livable but to be used as a place of business it is behind on standards.
"Well then. All that's left is to head over to a magistrate to sign the deed over and it is yours," Volo says with a big smile. He motions for you to follow him and leads you towards the courthouse is the Castle Ward.
Jeremiah nods ‘Lead the way then, please, then we’ll come back and see what needs doing..’ he looks over to Guardian ‘I have some friends who could use a roof over their heads, and would be dead keen to help us out if we’re fixing it up. Do you find if I go and fetch them after we’ve had a first look around?’
"This is your place as much as it is mine, you don't need my permission. Anyway, it's an awful big place for just the two of us." Guardian says, clapping his hand on Jeremiah's shoulder.
Volo takes you into the courthouse and finalizes the deed transfer. Shaking your hands he smiles, "The building is yours. Should you ever have need of me, you have only to ask." He then swirls his cloak around him and strides out of the room, attempting to look very important.
‘Shall we go and have a look round the house then, G?’ Jeremiah asks / suggests.
(He’s still sad about the events of the past 24hrs, but his natural youthful resilience is at work, and it’s difficult to be sad full-time, so he’s clearly excited to look round the house, never having lived in a house before, never mind being a joint owner of one...)
((Plus how sad could a street kid get over the death of two strangers he just met earlier in the day... go ahead and be happy/excited about the new clubhouse!))
Four stories tall and boasting balconies, a turret, and five chimneys, the abandoned building is one of the grandest in Trollskull Alley. As you enter the manor, you find the tavern’s taproom is filled with broken furniture, tarnished silverware, casks of wine that have turned to vinegar, and worthless detritus. The tavern’s other rooms are all empty, except for cobwebs, dust, and harmless rats.
‘There’s a lot of tidying to do, G, but I don’t reckon there’s too much wrong with the place... ‘Course, I’ve never owned noth...’ he pauses, as if hearing something ‘alright, alright. I’ve never owned anything like this before. What d’you reckon, G?’
"I've never owned anything like this either. Should we gather your friends and see about setting the place right?" He asks, pulling a piece of cobweb off his arm.
Jeremiah nods ‘Sounds like a good idea, G. Then we can get a good lay of the land for the local area, see who can help us fix the place up...’
He heads out the door, with a view to head back to his old stomping ground.
(He’s going to see if Tina, Frankie, Delboy and Huck are interested in a real roof over their heads, and some coin in their pockets, in return for helping get the place back on its feet.)
You find your old crew sitting in an alley eyeing passerby's. Tina spots you and gives you a quick wave before poking Delboy and pointing towards you. As the other three see you, they all give up whatever scheming they were doing and rush towards you. Frankie shakes her head at you, "Where have you been? Had us worried when you didn't come home last night. You look exhausted."
Guardian, while Jeremiah is away and you look around the tavern, you hear a knock at the door. When you take a peek outside, it is a well dressed human male in his mid twenties waiting outside.
'Sorry guys, it's been a bit of a whirlwind of a day.' then, unable to contain his excitement, exclaims 'We have a house!' the excitement causes him to start speaking rapidly at this point 'Ihelpedsomepeoplefindarichguywhogotkidnapped, andwefoundhim, prettytoughbattle, andthenhedidn'thavethemoneytopayussowegotaginormoushouse!' he takes a breath at this point, grinning like a loon.
'We can all go and live there, and it'll be an inn, and so we can earn money, and have enough food. And there's Guardian, who's really nice - he's a mechanical warrior who helped save my life, and he'll be able to help us deal with the Bridge Street Boys in case they cause trouble again...'
The four of them stare at you very confused for a couple of moments. "You did what?" Delboy stammers out. After a little bit of catching up they all nod very excitedly, "Lead the way!" Huck says. "Sounds way better than picking that old man's pockets," Frankie says smiling. They all quickly follow you back towards the manor.

Based on what you see, what he says makes sense.

"Yes, let's see what work we have ahead of us, hmm?" Guardian answers Jeremiah, heading towards the house.
