I'm minded towards a Divine Soul Sorceror, with some multi-classing with Celestial Warlock (Valda perhaps). In terms of race, I'd be thinking of Free Halfling, who's out to abolish slavery...
An alternative would be a golden dragonborn druid, out to help the people drive back the long winter to come..
I won't create anything until I know what's happening in more detail / could work with you on backstory...
Yes I know there are already multiple barbarian ideas, but I will throw mine into the mix :)
Aslaug - Variant Human Barbarian (Future Path of the Zealot)
Aslaug is a holy warrior. She has been touched by the gods themselves and acts as there hand of vengeance in the world. Aslaug hears the will of the gods and acts to make their will reality. The presence has blessed her with abilities that many consider to be unnatural (Magic Initiate - Cleric), but Aslaug sees them as only one more way to stand up and bring about the world as prescribed by the gods. Roaming the land, Aslaug finds shelter in the temples and homes of those who worship the old ways. Living within her means and desiring little more than to be a righteous tool.
My character would be Skorri Barkfist, a Human Monk (Way of the Open Hand) from The Boreal Monastery.
He has been sent by the elders of the monastery to investigate a perceived disturbance in the wilds of the foothills and in his wanderings saw smoke rising from the town of Hedmark during one of the raids. He believes whatever is causing the town to burn is also what is causing the disturbance of nature in the Bjarke Foothills.
I hope to grow and develop Skorri as he learns more about the world around him (this also gives me a great chance to learn more about the world you've built for the game).
Skorri doesn't know much about life or the world outside of the monastery and so he can be perceived as both wise and spiritual but also incredibly naïve or even rude at times.

Hopefully not too late.
