Lostur The table is covered in samples of various metals and basic tools, you do not see what you are looking for. There is also a box filled with tiny semi-precious stones (worth a total of 200 gp). Do you take these?
Kray you feel nothing above you. (roll an intelligence check)
Brenvull and Lorvax you leave the room and open the opposite door. Three walls inside are lined with shelves that hold books and scrolls, and the fourth wall is covered by a large tapestry. The tapestry depicts a bronze dragonborn who you recognise as the departed High Priest Maziff. He is wearing a red and gold robe and shooting lightning at a pair of manticores. A large brazier sits to the side of a polished, wooden desk. A thick rug lies in front of the desk.
Lostur spots the gems amongst the tools, and some of his frustrated fuming dissipates. "Oh! Shiny!!" he notes, grabbing the stones with eyes that sparkle nearly as much as they do. He then notices the others are missing and wanders next to Kray, watching her watch the ceiling. He looks up at the ceiling, too, scratching his head. "Something interesting up there?" he asks.
He squints hard at the ceiling, trying to see what she's looking at. (Perception: 5, LOL)
Lostur as you stare intently at the ceiling you hear a ripping sounds followed by a loud screech behind you. You turn to see the griffon emerging from the tapestry, it's eyes blazing with rage. The once inanimate image is now a real live beast and it is glaring at you as it steps out of the tapestry and into the room.
Lorvax moves to look at the tapestry in all its glory. "Better, simpler times." He says to himself, sighing.
((Totally missed your last post Dreamhobbit! Was in the process of rolling an investigation check for the tapestry!))
Moments later, after Lorvax has subsequently turned his back on the tapestry, he hears a bestial screech. Wheeling around he watches as the griffon emerges from the tapestry, an evil glare in it's eyes. "What devilry is this?!"He exclaims loudly before adopting a defensive stance.
Lostur the Griffon heads straight for you, biting once at your face Attack: 20 Damage: 12 and then trying to take its claws across your chest Attack: 16 Damage: 9
(Lorvax you were looking at the tapestry in the other room of the high priest and manticore)

Brenvull looks up: "I cannot remember the tapestries coming to live before. Devil's play! Lorvax, we have got a problem over here!" he turns to the Griffon and ring the bell (DC 14 wis save or 11 damage)

Lostur you Yklwa moving a blur slicing into the Griffon. You damage the beast but instead of blood, threads of cloth fly across the room as you tear into its hide.
10 WIS : Brenvull as you point at the Griffon a loud bell tolls and the sounds seems to ripple through the creature as threads fall away from its body.
Kray you jump into the battle slicing two mighty gashes into the creatures side. It cries out in pain as great billows of cloth as stipped from its for and it is now looking badly injured. STR 19 then with a mighty effort you push the raging beast to the ground. (prone)
Lorvax as you turn to go back to the workshop the rug shifts beneath your feet and suddenly you find yourself surrounded by billowing cloth as it attempts to smother you. Attack : 25 (If Hit: The creature is grappled (escape DC 13). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, blinded, and at risk of suffocating. In addition, at the start of each of the target's turns, the target takes 10 (2d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
Lorvax flails desperately as he attempts to free himself from the rug's grasp.
Strength Saving Throw: 10
Unfortunately, try as he may, he is unable to gain the upper hand. Starting to panic he attempts to cry out but finds the rug closing over his face, muffling his voice.
((Argh, me and saving throws... to think I have a +4 for Strength! Did you want to roll for damage or should I just deduct 10?))
Pinned by your shield the Griffon tries to lash out at you Kray. First a bite Attack: 20 Damage: 5 and then a claw Attack: 7 Damage: 6
You all hear a muffled yell as Lorvax is enveloped inside the rug of smothering. You are now fighting the Griffon in the workshop and the rug in the library.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Does Brenvull see anything else dangerous in this room (passive perception 19, or perception 21)? If not he will run out the room and towards where Lorvax is trying to help him get out. Otherwise he will first make the others aware of potential danger before going there.
(I'm assuming the griffon and the carpet are not close enough to each other to activate a green flame blade? If they are set me straight, because lostur would totally set a carpet on fire if he could XD)
Lostur continues to focus solely on the griffon, incensed that it's getting in their way. "To me!" he yells, as the ghostly spirits of other dragonborn answer his call and surround him, baring their fangs. (BA: Spirit shroud, anything hostile in 10' has its speed reduced by 10', can't regain hit points, the damage is radiant)
He presses the attack against the griffon, the spirits aiding each strike: Attack: 25 Damage: 14
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Alas they are in different rooms Lostur)
Kray as you leave the room to assist Lorvax the Griffon gets an attack of opportunity. Attack: 11 Damage: 6
Lostur you press your attack and deliver a killing blow to the Griffon. The air is filled with an ear-splitting shriek and the creature splits into a thousand strands of silk, which flow back toward the tapestry and return the beast to its original place as a two dimensional image.
Lorvax you start to struggle for breath as the rug wraps tighter around you. Take 10 damage as your turn begins.
(Remember you have help from Kray escape DC 13)

Kray do not sense anything above you. However, you are not sure how far up the next room may be given that you need to teleport to get there.
