Lostur helps himself to a short nap while the others try to decide whether to take the teleportation circle up, down, or nowhere. After an hour has passed, he realizes everyone is still wondering (or perhaps looked) behind the other door. Scratching his nostril, he gets up and steps onto the circle.
"Oi! Can you take me up? I got a lady to kill here and I don't have all day."
The rest of you watch as Lostur wanders over to the teleportation circle and with a sharp crack of green energy that surges toward the ceiling he vanishes. Brenvull, Lorvax and Kray you remain standing before the closed double doors. The only sound being the burbling fountain behind you. The teleportation circle appears to have retained its charge, leaving you the choice of following Lostur upward or exploring the rooms beyond the closed doors.
Lostur you find yourself transported upward to a small room. It is empty save for the teleportation circle at its centre. Each of the four walls contains a wooden door. (North, East, South and West)
OOC: To recap, after waking from a magical sleep that lasted centuries you have returned to your ancient home to find it a desolate ruin and your Lord Dragon Balorian defeated in battle and present only in spirit. After fighting off a goblin horde and cleansing the Temple of Bahamut of a demonic scourge you now find yourself climbing tower home of the last high priest to stop a strange elven mage from further desecrating your home. She intends to raise the high priest as an undead slave and by doing so gain full access to the secrets of the citadel. You all now climb the tower with the intent of stopping her.
"'cos we don't know how many traps or danger we could trigger before finding that witch and we are stronger together. It would be just a second. They'll be here any minute, they were right behind me." she says approaching him and gently taking his place at the door "But I guess that there's no harm in peeking while we wait right? "and with a smirk she does exactly that and peeks at the other side of the door.
Lostur looks sheeping, running a hand along the back of his scaled neck. "Oh... right. I always forget you guys like being cautious and stuff. I'm more of an in head-first guy," he admits. "But I guess I can try to go slower for everyone elses' sakes."
He takes a look inside the room he just opened the door to, but is terribly distracted by Kray's words, which has given him not just food for thought, but a veritable feast.
Kray and Lostur you both peer through the door into what appears to be a dimly lit crafting room. A forge sits in the corner across from the door. In front of it are an anvil, a metal bin, and a barrel. Three work benches and stools sit here, littered with tools and remnants from past work. Three storage cabinets sit against the walls.
Brenvull and Lorvax, to keep things moving I will say that you have both now followed your companions and appear behind them in the portal room. The portal powers down for a moment as it did before. Its energy temporarily drained by your passage. Kray and Lostur stand peering through open doors to the north while doors remain closed to the south, east and west.
"A forge! interesting but we do not have time for that"says Kray heading for the east doors and peeking there. "See? here they are"she says when the rest teleports up to the chamber.
Kray you open the east door to reveal a trophy room. A number of pedestals stand in this room, each holding an unusual object. Shelves and glass-fronted display cases around the room hold a variety of items. The head of a great ogre is mounted on one wall, its mouth open wide in a silent roar. A suit of full plate armour stands in one corner. One wall is covered by a tapestry depicting a tall Dragonborn with a long, braided sash of silver and wearing a red and gold robe. She stands on a hill of human skulls, holding a staff over her head.
Lostur whuffles, disappointed that his room was boring. Following after Kray, he peeks in. His eyes widen as he sees all the things that speak right to his heart, from shining suits of heroic armor, to beheaded ogres, to the tapestry with the hero on it.
He walks until he's directly before the tapestry, staring, eyes wide with admiration. "I wonder who that is?" he muses aloud.
Lorvax, remembering the events that transpired previously, gives the tapestry a wide berth. Staring at the fearsome image he tries to recall whether he has heard any tales of who the mystery woman might be.
((Think I'll also get in on the History roll action)) History: 5 ((assuming she is not fey, fiend or undead!))
Not having a clue who the figure is, Lorvax pays her little heed. Instead, he chooses to move over to the suit of plate armour and tentatively inspects it; knowing full well that seemingly inanimate objects had a habit of coming to life in this place.
Lostur and Lorvax you have no clue who this is. Kray however knows this to be Vorondrell a famous warrior and general of the wars with the humans. The mountain of skull portrays the vast numbers of foes she is said to have slain in battle. She was blood thirsty and fearless and a hero to all young dragonborn warriors back in your time. Of course she will be long dead at this point.
Lorvax your caution pays off as you tentatively move closer to the armour you see it move just a fraction in response to your approach. You are so distracted by this however that you spot little else.
Lostur, overwhelmed by the majesty of the tapestry, composes a poem to the lady in it on the spot. He puts his hand on his chest and sincerely recites:
"Blood runs red, Faces turn blue, Sometime in the future, I want to be you!"
(Yeah hope you recover soon)

Lostur tiptoes towards the northern door and listens for any sounds from behind it.
Perception: 9
Kray sighs and rolls her eyes and walks into the teleportation circle.
"Someday he is going to put himself in real trouble..." she says to the others as she walks in.

Lostur you press close to the door listening for sounds beyond. A moment passes and... silence.
Brenvull and Lorvax do you follow Kray to the portal?

"Huh. Must be empty!" Lostur cheers, swinging the door open.
"Wait for the others..." whispers Kray to Lostur when he starts opening the door, but it's too late.

Lostur, always a shining bastion of intelligence, freezes with the door half-open and looks at Kray. "Eh? Why?" he asks eloquently.
