Slink makes a face as she studies the paneling..."the creepiness factor just keeps rising in this place. Anyone else seeing those faces?" She shudders and looks away letting her gaze take in the rest of the room. "Guess carved wolves are better than real ones." She runs her fingers over the place settings, the desire to pocket some of the silverware warring with her unease of taking anything from such a place.
Oricoril passes his hands along the silver rods and then the sculpted faces trying to gain a better sense of what these might mean. He turns to Slink, "Aye, it also appears like no one has been in this room for quite some time, something...something seems off about this whole thing"
investigation5 As he runs his hands long the artwork and the fixtures, he's trying to see if anything budges or if there are any passages or openings.
"The motifs are certainly a bit... grim, macabre perhaps. But that does not inherently mean that there is something wrong. Maybe the artist or the client had peculiar tastes..." she replied to the others; though even she was a bit doubtful. Those images were certainly rather unsettling and not something she would specifically request in her dining room. Turning quickly from the images, she continued, with just a hint of forced cheerfulness, "Well there doesn't seem to be anything in here. Shall we continue?" She'll then move to room 4A and check inside.
Nope, no secret passageways or openings. Just a very neat, well put together dining room.
AREA 4A/4B - KITCHEN AND PANTRY
The kitchen (area 4A) is tidy, with dishware, cookware, and utensils neatly placed on shelves. A worktable has a cutting board and rolling pin atop it. A stone, dome-shaped oven stands near the east wall, its bent iron stovepipe connecting to a hole in the ceiling. Behind the stove and to the left is a thin door leading to a well-stocked pantry (area 4B).
Debauchery chuckles as he peers at the walls, an aloof moment masking how unsettling he found it. "Make a note not to hire the carpenter for our own keep," he mutters aloud, pausing briefly before sighing audibly and adding a quick, "Are you even writing this down?" He moves forward, watching Slink eye the silverware. "I'd stay my hand, wee one. I bet even the cutlery here holds some curse." He moves to inspect the fireplace.

Slink pulls her hand away from the table after Debauchery's comment, not bothered that he guessed her intentions. "Yes, I think you are right, the risk is not worth the reward." She turns and walks toward Sofia. "Is that room less creepy or more creepy." She asks, peering in from behind.

"Charmingly normal thankfully." Sofia replied as she moved towards 4B, noticing nothing amiss in the kitchen.
Felix wanders, almost aimlessly behind everyone else. Simply observing the incredible amount of work put into the place. "This does indeed feel very off putting. And I believe that the peculiar tastes is definitive. They did have a monster kept in their basement. Snakes, wolves, faces.... they really are a bit all over the place," he muses. Seeing everyone focused on pushing forward he leans back out towards the main hall, looking to make sure nothing was using the opportunity to sneak up on them. "We should be nearly done with this floor. Should there be nothing here, do you wish to go up or down?"
Slink leans against the wall, twirling her daggers while waiting for Sofia to check the other room. "Well, first we have to find a way to the basement, I haven't seen any stairs leading down there." She looks up at the others..."unless I missed something?"
Sofia: Behind a small door in the southwest corner of the kitchen (AREA 4B) is a dumbwaiter—a 2-foot-wide stone shaft containing a wooden elevator box attached to a simple rope-and-pulley mechanism that must be operated manually.
Oricoril will be sticking close to the group, "There must be some other rooms in the floor no? Sofia was it? Is there anything over there that might lead downstairs?" He will then wander out to the main room and go towards Area 3 cautiously to take a peak.

"I found an old dumbwaiter back here, though I'm not sure if it goes up or down." Sofia replied.
Pulling Zoomi out of her satchel, she told him out loud - so the entire group could hear her plan, "I need you to see what's at the other stop(s) of this elevator here Zoomi. Be careful and stay small and quiet." Nodding, the familiar leaped from her grasp and onto the elevator, patiently waiting for it to move. Before attempting to move the elevator though, she checked the pully system to see both which direction (up or down) it might lead to as well as if it would be particularly loud or squeaky to operate. (Investigation: 18)
AREA 3 - This oak-paneled room looks like a hunter’s den. Mounted above the fireplace is a stag’s head, and positioned around the outskirts of the room are three stuffed wolves. Two padded chairs draped in animal furs face the hearth, with an oak table between them supporting a cask of wine, two carved wooden goblets, a pipe rack, and a candelabrum. A chandelier hangs above a cloth-covered table surrounded by four chairs. Two cabinets stand against the walls.
(The dumbwaiter goes up, and as you test the pully system - it seems quiet enough, you guess.)
Debauchery stays Sofia, intrigued by the familiar in the dumbwaiter tactic. "Can you see what it sees?" he asks, peering up through the opening as it ascends. "Or will we not its fate if it becomes fodder for a monster?"

"I can if I concentrate, though someone else will have to operate the elevator then." Sofia replied. "And I'm certainly hoping he won't become monster food again; he did not enjoy the experience the last time. Want to give me a hand?"
'He did not enjoy the experience' is the understatement of the century, Zoomi boomed in her head in retort. Nevertheless, he stayed where he was, ready to assist Sofia as needed.
(If someone helps with the elevator, she'll use her action to see through Zoomi's eyes as the elevator rises through the house. Would it be possible to then hold an action as well to dismiss Zoomi back into his pocket should something dangerous try and reach/ attack him?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Oricoril continues into the room he'll prop the door open with one of the chairs just in case, saying a brief prayer to himself (Granting the class feature Vigilant Blessing, giving me advantage on the next initiative roll I make) and he'll check the cabinets for any useful information or clues. To himself and if anyone else follows "Let's hope there's something of interest in here, there has to be a clue somewhere..."
Two cabinets stand against the walls. The east cabinet sports a lock that can be picked with thieves’ tools and a successful DC 15 Dexterity check. The north cabinet is unlocked and holds a small box containing a deck of playing cards and an assortment of wine glasses.
