OOC: I am really sorry for the recent inactivity. Unexpected life events came in the way, nothing too serious, but a couple of things that made me fall behind on everything. I will, however post something by next Thursday at the latest and try to move the game forward. Thank you for your understanding!
The Halfling man seems quite thrilled by everything that is happening, and he certainly cannot say a word when Lucy leans over him. He awkwardly scratches the back of his head again and lets out a silent laugh. “Well then, I am happy to have people willing to accept the deal.”
He glances at Anastria after that sentence and nods with an uneasy look in his eyes, then turns to Pimkin. “Consider it done.”, he smiles and gestures towards the direction you agreed to proceed.
Short after, you all arrive to the tavern, and take one of the many empty tables. Davrick waits for everyone to sit and then takes his place.
“As for your first question, a month or so ago, a party of hunters disappeared from the village. Things like that happen time to time, the forest is not too far, and there are a few creatures roaming the fields anyway. Accidents are always a possibility. But then, part of our orchard was also destroyed. It looks as if something broke the branches. The thing is, no one has seen anything. It happened overnight. Then I went for a ride in the fields and I overheard some mumbling from behind a slope. I would have proceeded and chased it, but from the voice, I figured it would be overwhelmingly larger and stronger than myself. I tried to gather a group of townsmen, but they are not willing to listen. Normally, I could go and ask for help from the landlord, but we lost him recently.”
At this point, a waiter - Half-elf in origin - approaches your table and asks about your order.
When you finish, Davrick continues. “You need not to worry about that.” he says in a somewhat dryer voice. “Unlucky coincidences, really. I happen to be in the wrong place in the wrong time, and they happen to be not.”
He seems to close off at that question. You may roll for Persuasion if you would like to learn more.
“Anyway, let me know if you have any more questions. And you can of course look around any time to see what you are dealing with. When we finish here, I can give you the directions.”

"So, tell us more?" Anastria smiles at him. Persuasion: 12.
Lucy ordered a spicy onion pie , a cup of wine, bread, cheese, grilled white fish, and roasted vegetables. After thinking for a moment, she cancelled the potato, because she is on a diet.
"…How about the livestocks? The thing you mentioned sounds much bigger than simple goblin bandits or orc raiders. But usually when monsters appear, the first victims would be livestocks. So if there are sheeps or cattles disappeared from the farms, tell me please"Lucy sips an aperitif and speaks again. "Also about your orchard… When does the attack happen? Are there any animal dungs, half eaten fruits or foot print left? I want to know about the weather too. Because those things affect the tracks that the monster left."
Really distracted by his first glass of wine in many years Pimkin is not really trying to pry for more information. He will just continue listening to the story and is ready to go as soon as everyone's ready.
He thinks for a moment before answering the other questions. "Hmmm. I have not heard that any of the livestock went missing. Which is strange, because if the thing kills humans I don't see why it wouldn't harm cattle. But it might just be that I don't know about it. The orchard looks like... Like a huge bear raged through it or something. There was a tree torn out of the soil, just like that. And a ton of fruit was gone too."
He turns to Bizath. "Oh, yes. The forest. Well, it usually holds some nasty things but nothing we cannot deal with. This might not be related to it, even."
A couple of things, because technology doesn't want to cooperate.
Is the roll for Anastria with or without modifiers?
For Bizath, the roll unfortunately does not show. That is, you have to put a space after the roll (after the brackets), otherwise the site does this weird thing. With that said, that information would be such a low DC you don't need to spend a spell slot... But good call anyway.

"That's not strange. It means the big one that attacked your orchard is herbivore or at least not carnivore."Lucy starts to cut the onion pie which the waiter has just served her. "But that doesn't make the beast less dangerous though. The big herbivores animals tend to be more aggressive than carnivorous animals. Like hippos and rhinos. And it seems your fruits tastes good. The beast will probably return and if you try to stop it…" The elf girl eats the pie with a fork. "It may kill you… just like those poor hunters."
"If this things an herbivore, it probably felt threatened when it killed those foolish hunters. Do you have any idea how this thing kills? Any distinctive marks left behind?"
"Herbivore... Carnivore... If it's up to me we get our hands dirty and do some research ourselves. But please man, feel free to add anything you can that'll help us information wise"
If he feels the conversation is not sprouting any more information Pimkin will start to stand up eager to go (he will however gauge the rest of the party to see if they also plan to leave just now and stumble back down when they don't)
"b-big herbivore? are you sure we want to fight this? I... I think it may be a better decision to wait and prepare, maybe gain more intelligence about it? I'm certainly not for rushing into d-danger unprepared. or ever really. "
"To be honest, we never found the bodies. " Davrick says with a grim look on his face. "Not too many clues around either. There are some deeper creases in the ground, as if something heavy was dragged. The orchard was probably destroyed by brute force. It didn't seem intentional, and nothing really resembles weapons there... to me, at least. I really don't think I coud say more than this. You all clearly have more expertise. "
Again, my apologies fort the long waiting. I fell ill and neglected responsibilities for a little while. Unfortunately, this may happen in the future as well, but as long as I have the opportunity I will try to get back on track again asap.
"Do you have any idea where the beast lives?"Lucy wipes her mouth with a handkerchief. "If the answer is no, then we have only one way to figure it out. Let us visit your orchard and see what we can find. What do you think, guys?" Lucy asks other adventurers.
(OCC: Never mind. I'm busy recently and can't post as much as I used to be able to)
"I have no idea about that. I admit, I have not investigated any further, for I was quite intimidated." he looks at Lucy, his expression somewhat apologetic.
"Certainly" he nodds to Pimkin eagerly. "It is on the eastern side of the hill, next to the large, wooden building, but you'll see the top of the trees if you just walk in that direction. I'll stay and make sure our expenses are covered. And good luck with the investigation."
