"Maybe goblins are just too light to trigger it?" Roscoe will try to get up on the slab. He takes into account of anything from above and is prepared to jump off if anything happens.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Harmony starts across the middle of the bridge. Halfway across the plate, it shifts, drops, and a huge scythe drops down from the hole in the ceiling!)
I need a Reflex (Dexterity) Saving throw from Harmony. Lucius, go ahead and do one as well, but with advantage.
DMs note: it was a toss up, but Tieflings are considered Medium sized and Halflings are considered Small, so... sorry, Harmony! Just waiting for Lucius.
(Ravenath manages to get out of the way enough to only take half damage, but both Lucius and Harmony take the brunt of the swinging Scythe, and they're both down and badly hurt, and appear to be unconscious! )

Sorry, Roscoe, Harmony already used your potion of healing earlier. You do, however, have another charge of the first aid kit, and, if you use it and then you all take a short rest, you can regain some HP.
If you all agree and you're down HP, please roll your Hit Dice (It should be on your character sheet) and mark your HP on your sheet. Also, you can regain 1 Spell Slot per short rest. It is 1 hour.
As you peer inside, you see a large Bugbear, a kind of super Goblin, who may be the leader. He looks pretty tough, with thick furs and armor, and a giant Warhammer over his shoulder. Next to him, a regular Goblin in robes stands before a makeshift altar, chanting words that appear to be part of a ritual.
Spoiler for Roscoe and Ravenath:

You adjust your angle and see that there are 2 Goblins standing about on the right side of the room, talking among themselves, not really paying much attention.
DM's note: Sorry guys, looks like nobody is very perceptive. :) It looks like there's only 2 active players, unfortunately, I don't know if or when Ravenath and Lucius will come back, but I'll keep running for you guys. It does, however, mean that strategy and such will be entirely up to you two.
((I'm going to assume that our two inactive players point out what they saw or else we'll be another day's worth of posting making a plan and then revising it.))
Harmony takes a quick read of the room and whispers to the group. "I don't see the girl, but she has to be close. I've got enough power left in me to seriously light up the big ugly one and then maybe keep the cloaked muttery one busy. Lucius, can you and Ravenath take care of those two gobbo guards and then come help Roscoe finish off the boss?"

"Maybe goblins are just too light to trigger it?" Roscoe will try to get up on the slab. He takes into account of anything from above and is prepared to jump off if anything happens.
"Be careful Roscoe." Harmony says, patting her friend gently on the back reassuringly.
Harmony casts Resistance on Roscoe, granting him a +1d4 to any saving throw he may soon need to make.
(Roscoe the Halfling walks across the raised stone plate on the bridge and... .... nothing happens. He's across and everything is fine.)
DM's note:
I hope that wasn't too obvious. LOL :)

"Huh, it must be safe then...maybe the goblins disarmed it already?" With a small shrug, Harmony gathers herself and crosses the bridge.

"Eep!" Harmony cries out and she tries to jump away from the falling blade.
Dex Save: 11
((And apparently she just makes it by the hairs of her tippy tail....))
(I was too small to trigger it huh LOL)
((I was hoping Harmony's frail little self was going to be too light to trigger it as well. Maybe it's a height thing?))

Oops, forgot to give him advantage.

Roscoe, what do you do?

Roscoe finds the Potion of Healing we got and uses it on Harmony. He then finds the First Aid and applies it on Lucius.

(Having rested and regained some health, you march on. On the other side of the bridge, you come to another door like the one you came in thru.)

Roscoe nods and prepares to jump at the cloaked goblin. "I'll take out the cloaked one and then stall the boss."
