(Roscoe is a house of fury, hitting the Bugbear with some rapid fire strikes. He manages to block one, but the other hits him square in the face, breaking his nose. The Bugbear is very, very hurt! He seems to be on his last legs.)
DM's note: Harmony, it's up to you. The Bugbear has 2 HP left, btw.

(It's up to Harmony? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! T_T))
Pushing aside the shock of seeing Bess just likely kill two goblins, Harmony wheels around and assesses the situation with the bugbear. Ravenath and Lucius were both down and Roscoe was doing his best against a bloody beast of a bugbear that seemingly refused to be defeated. It had not been the greatest of days for Harmony or her friends. She was almost sure that being beneath the ground, cloistered away from Pelor's light was really starting to get to her. Harmony really wanted this fight to end, to leave this dreadful place, and feel the warm glow of the sun on her skin once more. Closing her eyes and taking a steadying breath, she wished with all her might for this to be over.

(Harmony casts Sacred Flame on the Bugbear, who is very weakened and not able to react as well as it normally would, but he tries!)
Dex Save: 5
(Sarris lets out a scream of pain as the Radiant Damage burns him up! His screams die down as he falls to his knees, then keels over face first, smoke rising from his burned body.)
(Your enemies are defeated, but not without cost. Ravenath and Lucius both lay unconscious on the ground. Roscoe is very badly hurt. Bess is being a trooper, but she still looks a bit scared by what she has seen.)

Taking Bess by the hand, Harmony leads her over to the group and begins checking everyone over to make sure that Ravenath and Lucius are at least stable before tending to Roscoe's wounds.
Perception check: 11
((And, as usual, remains relatively oblivious to the world around her.))
(As you finally have a moment when you're not in danger, you are finally able to survey the room. There is a makeshift altar where the Shaman Goblin and the Bugbear were performing the ritual. To the right of that, however, you all see a statue of a very familiar looking knight, who holds a sword pointing down to the ground. You look at your fallen comrades, who are very much in danger still, too hurt to be moved. If only you still had bandages or healing potions...

"Bess stay by Roscoe for a bit. I need to find some bandages or something to keep these two from dying...." Harmony searches around frantically for something to supplement her already meager medical supplies. "Ravenath and Lucius, don't you dare die on me on my very first adventure!"
Perception Check: 6
Medicine Checks for Ravenath, Lucius, and Roscoe, assuming that enough supplies can be found: 22, 10, 22
((Have I mentioned how much I really hate this die roller?))
(Harmony searches the area, including the bodies of their defeated foes. On the Bugbear, she finds 3GP, the Warhammer, some decent armor, and a Potion of Healing. On the Shaman, she finds 2 bandages, a robe, and 2 SP. Harmony goes to Ravenath and Lucius, using the bandages very skillfully to heal her fallen companions. After a few moments, Ravenath and Lucius open their eyes weakly and slowly make their way up to their feet. They both thank Harmony for helping them.)

Ravenath Perception: 17
Lucius Perception: 19
(You all tend to your wounds and take a short rest to recover.)
DM's screwup:
I just realized I originally named the little girl Daisy, but now I'm calling her Bess, since that's the name on the original story I'm basing this one shot on. LOL Sorry. Let's just say her name is Bess but her nickname is Daisy cuz... she likes daisies. :)
((I thought that was off, but I was too lazy to go dig back and find her name.))
"Alright, we rescued Bess and can take her home. Let's get out of this place before more horrible things happen to us." Harmony begins packing up the groups remaining supplies.

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
(The party takes Bess and escorts her out of the tomb area, going back past the stone bridge, back past the offering room with the murals, and up the stairs to the entrance. It's early afternoon. If you hurry, you might just make it back to the village before it gets too late. Harmony helps clean Bess up a little bit and you are on your way.
You trek briskly, already somewhat familiar with the woods and no longer having to worry about tracking. It is late in the evening, around 8 or 9pm when the party arrives back at the north edge of town near Rickard's property.)
"Bess! My sweet girl!"
(Rickard runs and meets you all outside of his gate just as you clear the woods. He has obviously been waiting near there, hoping to see you all return.
"Papa!" Bess cries, as they run and embrace each other, both shedding tears of joy. The sight of the big, burly Blacksmith crying over having his little girl back brings joy to all of your hearts. After letting them have their moment, Rickard thanks all of you, shakes all of your hands, and bids you all to allow him to take you back to the Tavern so that you may rest.
"They did it! They saved my girl!" Rickard shouts as they enter the busy Tavern. The townspeople are all excited, cheering, clapping you all on the back, congratulating you all and Rickard for getting his daughter back. Armand shakes all of your hands and offers you all whatever you wish to drink or eat, on the house. Jack the Serving Boy hugs Bess and holds back tears as well. The entire tavern proclaim you heroes and surround you, eager to hear your tales of heroism and how you saved Bess.)
DMs note: Feel free to RP anything you would like to happen here. This is pretty much the end of the One Shot. Thank you, Harmony and Roscoe, for sticking with it even though the other folks dropped out. I hope you enjoyed it. :)
((It was lots of fun. I feel like there were a lot of "secrets" to the tomb that we missed out on, but we managed to give Harmony a life scaring first look at what adventuring can be and we're down two players so going back to investigate further is likely out of the question. It was a good little adventure. Thanks for having me.))
