Laitraxa switches to goblin for the remainder of the conversation, working her way through the stilting and frustrating language. "<I have saved you from the demon ship. You can see what befell those with less luck. We require information, and for that we will return you to the green earth of the gods in safety. If you tell lies or do not give what we want...>" the dragon cranes her neck towards the Hungry Sky "<We can always put you back where we found you.">
The skinnier orc (half-goblin?) holds up his hands and responds, "Got nothin' against you. I just wanna get back to ma' get." Points a thumb at the other. "This sorreh sonova too." He takes a moment to relay that into orcish.
"Uh, buncha' places. Zag's just being exiled. Two were from a fancy skyship wreck. Two were captured when they tried to raid us. Don't know about the others." He takes a second to confer with the other. "Oh, and Begrag's just in there 'cause he got drunk at his bachelor party and passed out. That's this little tradition we have... Uh, the rest gettin' on the block up at that little place near Grag'Shar wit' the red trees."
Focusing a moment, the draconic mage hand appears just behind Laitraxa's head, digging into her pack and retrieving her map of the region. It floats near the orcs, so that all three can see the map.
"<This... block, at Grag'Shar. Is that where they were to be sold? Show me on the map where this place is.>" She pauses. "<And be sure you don't leave Begrag on our ship before we drop you off. Which two were from the skyship, and where was that crash?>"
He points to an unmarked area of the map, just southwest of Grag'Shar, which is the westernmost city of the Iron Empire. "The weird blue fella and the dwarf woman we found north'a here."
"<Hmm. Very well. Don't stray.>" Laitraxa looks back at Theena, who still seems astride her back. "You can set down, little one, unless you wish to stay for now. I don't mind. I'm going to speak to Eclipse."
Laitraxa moves over to Eclipse as he pilots the ship back up and over the Hungry Sky, watching the proceedings.
"Without so much as a scratch? Your powers are beyond the pale, Laitraxa. How do your kind express collegial excitement and appreciation? Shall I leap in the air and chest bump you?"Eclipse has one eye on the Hungry Sky, and another on the cage. When the moment is right, he says, "Now, for our parting gift,"and signals to Druaz and Jenaer to push the cage overboard, if they would, then sets course and calls to Tyrod and all to assist with angling the sails and gaining altitude.
"Were you able to learn anything from the orcs you saved?"asks the mawn, eyeing the objects of discussion distastefully.
Taking one end of the cage, Jenaer throws it over the edge with delight. “Well, that’s that done and dusted, anyone for a drink?” He suggests as chaos reigns around them.
"A roar and a belch of fire to the air is usually a good celebration."The dragon looks up, directly to the airbag. "In this case, maybe we skip that last part."
Laitraxa relays what she has found out about the slaves and their destination, as well as pointing out the places on the map.
Feeling the pixie woman gripping tight against some of the frills along her neck as she flies to a rendezvous with the descending ship, Laitraxa speaks to her, her voice deep yet still feminine in intonation. "Hello. I am Laitraxa. I have met your Druaz, and I am glad we seemed to have rescued you from... whatever that is."
Holding on tightly to the dragon, Theena was surprised when she heard her speak out loud; the thought hadn't crossed her mind that she could. "Oh! Thank you for saving Druaz, and me too! I'm Theena Arveene... and I didn't know dragons could be so... friendly, but I'm glad you all helped out!" Theena replied, a bit of innocence returning to her now that she was off the accused Sky once and for all.
"<Hmm. Very well. Don't stray.>" Laitraxa looks back at Theena, who still seems astride her back. "You can set down, little one, unless you wish to stay for now. I don't mind. I'm going to speak to Eclipse."
"Oh! Yeah sorry I'll get off and check on Druaz." Theena replied as she hopped off, forgetting where she was for a moment. Before she left, she turned back to Laitraxa and asked, "Do you think it's 'dead'? I couldn't hear it talk anymore once it split open."
Afterwards, Theena made her way over to the lizardwoman and made sure she was alright, just glad she had at least one survivor from the Sky still with her.
"I hope so, Theena Arveene. Whatever that... creature? Entity? was... I hope it cannot rise again."
Laitraxa soon returns from speaking to Eclipse.
"We are away. I don't think Eclipse has yet to pick a destination, but at very least, you and Druaz are safe now."The dragon, who was sitting on her haunches, lowers her head to Theena's eye level. "I am sorry if we caused you harm. You must understand, we thought we were being attacked by brigands, and responded accordingly."
Laitraxa's golden eyes are focused on the pixie.
Theena didn't know quite how to respond. On the one hand she was happy that she was alive and away from the ship, on the other hand though, she could still vividly see Kembe and Xial falling to their deaths even after she had yelled at them to stop. After realizing that she hadn't actually responded, she looked up and said "It's okay. We understand. There was no way you could've known..."
"That was brave of you to go back for your friend. Perhaps you'd like to continue on with a ship that is only slighly less likely to eat you, could always use more brave folk."
Laitraxa pauses. "Besides, you don't look like you eat that much."
Laitraxa's arcane hand, the spectral draconic claw wreathed in illusionary fire, waves Eclipse over once the ship is clear of the demonic entity.
OOC DM, during the fight would Laitraxa have seen the label "Hungry Sky" on the other ship's hull during one of her many orbits around it?
Eclipse waves back to Laitraxa, motioning for her to come to him. "I don't want to leave the wheel until we're clear of that hell ship!" He's keeping his eyes glued to it. "Once we do, we should assemble all hands and passengers on deck to ensure we aren't carrying another curse onboard after all of that."
Druaz is quiet and sullen when Theena talks to her.
"We're all that made it out in the end. Riordan, Kembe, Xial, Cinnabar... How many do you think there were before us?"
As the ship lifts off and away from the wreckage, you can see the caravan condensing once again into an ordered procession a mile away.
Most of the freed captives seem to not quite have woken from a more passive state, except for the two who already were. They seem content to remain on deck. The dwarven woman says she's been a sailor, and goes about making herself useful with routine tasks. Her companion seems content to idle about.
Eclipse Farawaysets course for Almantoes, and tells Laitraxa, Jenaer and Tyrod where they’re heading, to drop off passengers in exchange for payment (OOC: copying from DM’s post above: Almantoes is an elven trading hub a day to the south. It's within the borders of the Gallows Glens, and it's not clear if it's been affected by the war directly yet or not). He then finds Sally Ruby, and in a confident and matter-of-fact tone, informs her, “I have set course for Almantoes, where we’ll ensure your return to safety. Further interactions with cursed demon-ships notwithstanding.” He chuckles and, bowing slightly, seems to be on the verge of taking his leave, but his feet don’t move. He stands there dumbly for a moment, pulling at his whiskers, his blue-grey fur softly glistening in the sunlight, searching for words. He turns to the dwarven woman again, his fingers tracing a pattern in the air nonchalantly. “Ehrmm...what did you mean. About, ehrmmm, being 'shown the way on the word of a...mawn.' What ‘way’ did you mean?”
One of the two doesn't respond, the shorter one quietly raises a hand when you say 'goblin'.

OOC Don't suppose you happen to have a map of the overall region you could toss on Imgur? Even a cellphone photo of a napkin would be helpful, lol.
