(We're just gonna keep actions in order of posting rather than trying to retcon on the fly. But the BI can apply to Hallis' next attack just as future attacks on Gus will get advantage, assuming he fails his save. Speaking of...)
Delanra, mage hand is only strong enough to carry 10lbs and the leash isn't tied so much as it's a loop placed on the ground and the corner of the heavy wooden desk was lifted to put the leg put through said loop. There's no way it would be able to yank it from under the desk. However, the clasp attaching it to the collar around Morpholemew's neck is one of those spring-loaded question mark-shaped jobbies. The spell doesn't have stats for checks so we'll say your spellcasting stat will be the dex mod in this case and you're distracting/deceiving them while attempting it so we'll say you're proficient enough to add your bonus. Roll 1d20+5 to try to free the King (DC 18 because it's hard to see peripherally while distracting your adversaries).
Hayle pours water over herself, freezing instantly into cruel-looking, spiked armor (it looks awesome, trust me...). The ethereal tentacle springs up once more, this time from the surface of the desk next to Asparagus, startling him into jumping just enough to avoid its slam attack.
Halis' righteous fury bombards the oversized feline with a multi-bladed storm of swipes and slashes! The first one strikes true and carves a deep wound into your tour guide's shoulder. He yowls in pain as he jumps down from the desk, narrowly missing the lightning-fast follow-up attack! (You get an AOO as Asparagus scrambles away from you!)
Syl snaps to and flicks a lackadaisical wrist at Gus as he makes an obscure reference to one of Waterdeep's newest, hippest plays. You haven't seen it. You'd have to see it to get the joke. He assures you it's hilarious. Despite missing the target audience, Halis feels reassured that local theater culture is alive and well and that's something worth fighting for! (We'll just carry that d4 roll over for when you wan to use it next since I can't deny you an awesome roll mid-final battle.)
Asparagus hisses as he lifts his tail at the lot of you, wipes his paws on the desk, and jumps down from the table, distinctly not glowing.
"You fools! You could have been rich! Now you will die with Morphó Le Pew and his dirty dogs!" Asparagus shouts over his shoulder as he bolts out the door to the back room and beyond, laughing maniacally into the night outside.
Miestro looks back and forth between you and the fleeing form of the big tabby. She cracks a grin and yells over the din of her embattled rat swarms, "Yeah, you'll see! Or...no, you won't! 'Cuz you'll all be dead!" Clearly self-conscious of her chosen exit line, she quickly follows with the only slightly more memorable, "Eat them alive, my fetid subjects!" as she lets out another screech and transforms back to her wererat form once more and scampers out after Gus.
As you turn your attention back to the battle at hand, heads shaking in disbelief/disappointment, you see the fleeting form of Ungrulf bolt out of the doorway where he had been sitting up to this point. You catch a quick glimpse of his back go by one of the windows as he runs around the house, presumably in pursuit of Asparagus and Miestro. Just then you hear the sickening sounds of one of the worgs finishing off the last of a swarm of rats in one corner! A quick survey shows you there are still seven swarms and four worgs left in the fight!
Just then, two of the rat swarms peel off from separate opponents and come scampering straight at you!
One quickly begins crawling up Hayle's legs and over much of her body, clawing and biting as they go!
Bite - Attack: 11 Damage: 7 (They take 5 cold damage if they hit.)
The other begins circling Halis as they're the one who caused their ally so much pain! They rush in and begin climbing legs and weapon alike, biting and clawing all the while!
Bite - Attack: 3 Damage: 10
(I'm not inclined to try to officiate attacks on a swarm that's occupying the same space as an ally so we'll just go with regular attacks with no over-the-top stipulations about possibly hitting Hayle or Halis.)
Halis swipes at the retreating Gus, but the blood-slicked cat is just a little too slippery for him. „I was always a dog person anyway!“ he yells in frustration after him.
As the rats swarm around him. Halis kicks them off in disgust, unaffected by their vicious nibbles. He turns the flat of his blade down and brutally (and lethally) smashes through the swarm like a golf player.
Attack: 21, damage: 9
His backswing form is not nearly as good, though:
Attack: 9, Damage: 3
Inspiration: 4 to so e attack that didn‘t hit
(Actually I read that wrong, I rolled again and got a 3, but if the 4 carries over, that‘s 13 rather than 12 to hit. And it probably should have been on the AOO, which I almost forgot to roll for… well, DM can apply the BI wherever it feels right!)
Seeing the swarm of rats cover her comrades, she weaves her hands in the air and focusses her magic straight at them. "Time for a rat nap."
Action: Sleep trying to encompass as many rats as possible, but ensuring to catch the rats covering Halis and Hayle but not herself. Roll: 23 hp within the affected area. Movement: Towards and out off the window that the rat, cat and dog ran out of or past.
Delanra moves with unusual hastiness to try and see where the masterminds of this little plot have run off too.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The rat skittered up Hayle's leg and she shuddered, The distraction enough to throw off her attention as the tentacle whipped forth. Fortunately, her leggings were thick enough to stop the rat's teeth, Unfortunately, they gave good purchase for the creature to climb higher.
As Asparagus runs from the room, Hayle has enough presence of mind to get the tentacle to reappear beside her and strike out at the rat on her leg Attack: 20 Damage: 7 (reduce speed by 10ft on hit). Then, she runs after the cat. If she can get to the doorway, she pauses there, raises her hands. "Moto wa pepo," she cries as a blast of red arcing light blazes from her hands (Eldritch Blast) Attack: 23 Damage: 3
((OOC: I see that the rat wasn't killed, I still plan to run after Asparagus))

Syl manages to line up both his jabs perfectly and cut to the heart of 4 of the rats on Halis as well as that of Hayle's secret snack stash (nothing if not inspiring!).
Halis lunges at Asparagus as the cat leaps away but swings wide with his scimitar. He recovers and swings again but at the swarm of rats crawling on and around him. He clears another 9 rats in one stroke and 3 more with the follow up (applied the BI there since Gus would've survived and escaped anyway). The swarm is having trouble keeping together!
Delanra, seeing a room full of vermin, attempts to put some of them to sleep with a somewhat overpowered 1st level spell in tight quarters. What she didn't account for was the manner in which the rats were working together giving them an unexpected advantage against such magic! The attempt backfires as both Halis and Delanra herself fall to the floor, unconscious!
Sleep doesn't affect creatures who can't be charmed and according to Mike Mearls that means their HP doesn't count against the rolled HP number. Syl is a half-elf and can't be magically put to sleep so Delanra has the fewest HP, Hayle has more than the rest because of her temp HP, Thokk is nowhere to be found (probably went back for another funnel cake), which leaves Halis as the next target.
Hayle ineffectively sets her translucent tentacle to swiping at rats as she runs to try and catch Asparagus before he can escape! The rats bit at her again as she tries to get away.
Bite - Attack: 3 Damage: 4 piercing to Hayle
Making a perception check for Hayle since Gus went running through another room and then out into the night so we'll see if she spots him quick enough to get a shot off. Because of Gus' speed and the fact that he was dashing, it'll be a high DC.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hayle sees no sign of Asparagus in the next room! Feel free to redirect your action before your next turn.
In the pandemonium, you look over just in time to see a worg fall to a couple of rat swarms and another worg finish off the remains of yet another swarm with a loud chomp!
There are 3 worgs and 6 swarms of rats remaining (including the two you're currently engaged with) for anyone keeping track.
On and around Halis, the depleted swarm continues its onslaught of biting and scratching!
Bite - Attack: 22 Damage: 56 piercing (1d6 since half the swarm is gone but it's an auto-crit if it hits since Halis is unconscious) Bwahahahah...that should be 2d6, not 2d62! Let's use this damage instead: 9
Hayle now across the room, the other swarm focuses on the next closest target: Syl. They scramble up the half-elf's trousers, looking for cheese...their hunger not yet sated.
Halis drops unconscious, but doesn't dream, in his strange Kalashtar way. Instead, he has a brief vision of the Dreaming Dark, reaching out for him, over the city, through the rats... He comes awake with a yell as the rats swarm over him and bite, nearly making his 'sleep' a permanent thing. Unaware of what occurred and what is occurring, he simply stands up again, and then slaps his cheeks with both hands to wake up properly.
(Hayle can still take her turn this round since that eldritch blast [directed at the swarm that had been on her] was from the previous round. I'll update with the next round tomorrow!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Frustrated the Asparagus has disappeared, Hayle turns back to the main fight, although she steps just out of the doorway. First, she redirects the tentacle to move towards the rats closest to herself and uses it to attack. 11 Damage: 5 (reduce speed by 10ft on hit). Then, seeing that Halis has gone down, she directs her attack at the swarm that is upon her. (Eldritch Blast) Attack: 11 Damage: 5. Bardic Inspiration on attack: 1
Delanra slumbers, undisturbed. Surely, when returned to consciousness, she would view being left to her own fate by her friends as reparation for taking disproportionate risks when unsure of the potential consequences.
As if on queue from the silent narration, King Morpholomew darts out from the cloud of dust and claws and teeth to shout, "Get it together! There's no time to nap when there's a battle underway!" He bats at Delanra's face with one paw to wake her and then disappears back into the fray, but not before leveling a scathing glance at the rest of the group who let his liberator fall unconscious and remain unchecked for an entire six seconds.
Halis hits the ground and almost immediately jumps back up, screaming, as if woken from a very short nightmare. But you know that couldn't be the case. It must've been the pile of rats biting and clawing at him. He (insert "lay on hands" joke here) and seems to feel a bit better and ready to continue fighting the good fight.
Syl, emboldened by his recent success, stabs at the rats currently swarming his own form, careful not to poke himself. It appears to be a particularly difficult task with a rapier as he swings wide and whiffs it.
Hayle, frustrated by Gus' quick escape, turns back to the fight at hand and, out of sheer disgust, blasts the swarm that had been attacking her. She follows it up with a tentacle attack for good measure (which misses) as she turns her attention to blasting the swarm on Halis.
The swarm atop Halis, sensing that the danger has shifted, changes its focus to Hayle and attacks!
Halisgets another AOO as the swarm leaves him to concentrate on Hayle.
Bardic inspiration to hit, if it's possible: 4 to one of the attack rolls!
(We're just gonna keep actions in order of posting rather than trying to retcon on the fly. But the BI can apply to Hallis' next attack just as future attacks on Gus will get advantage, assuming he fails his save. Speaking of...)
