The information about the dragon is isn't particularly hidden. Having stayed in the citadel, you will have heard tales about the beast on multiple occasions. It's an enormous dragon of of grey color, with a metallic hue. The only thing you can add from yur research is that it was already and enormous dragon 100 years ago.
The centurion, listening to this nods:
"I figured the talk of a powerful god-slaying weapon right on our doorstep was too good to be true. But if searching for events from centuries ago for clues is the goal, there is another, though far less desirable option.
Shun returns Gruntor’s embrace. “Grun-Tor! I think you made most barf of all that day. My boot still smells when it rains. Kill gods? Not sure we can but will try. Just not mine. Ours. Him-self. He would not like that. Trust me, I tried. Books? I am good with runes, best in all the land. Just miss one or two per word. Long ones hard. My dad has no more stink foot. The foot is gone. Beast bite. You have been up to a lot! I could join and it would be like old times! These your friends?”
He replies to Firebolg, “no, not hug bear. Hug Grun-Tor. You have bad eyes? Wait, you have friend too? What’s their name? This here is Sweet-Ums.”He indicates the terrified bird hiding in his armor.
(OOC this is hilarious I didn’t know you had a bird companion when I did Shun’s character creation process! Sorry if it’s annoying. I think Sweetums is not long for this world, so don’t worry too much about too many birds.)
Shun doesn’t really help a lot with the scholarly pursuit - catching up with Gruntor for the most part.
"It's not that easy. The Inner Archives aren't just another room full of old tomes. They are a failsafe store of knowledge, built to presever valuable knowledge even if the citadel was overrun by enemies. Once per century or so, the most valuable materials are taken from the regular archives to the Inner by trusted elites and officers. Few in the citadel even know of its existance, and fewer still know how to access it.
If it wasn't for the immninent war with the humans... Well, it is what it is. You'd better prepare for a dangerous trip with your life on the line."
When Leesha mentions reading goblin, Captain Isaac chuckles, “As point in fact… I… … don’t…”, he admits.
”Aside from a few choice curses, though, that is!… Had a goblin Ship’s-Hand for a while… Right filthy mouth that one had!… … But no… not so much help here with this…”.
At the mention of a dragon’s horde, Isaac’s whole face lights up and his eyes seem to glint. “A dragon’s horde you say?… hmmm… We’d have to be mighty tricksy to get in and out of there! But what an adventure it would be!…”.
He would gladly assist again, in the Inner Archives…
The centurion shrugs at the question about details:
"I do not know. The details about the Inner Archives are not written down, only passed by spoken word, and these tories have faded with passing generations. All I know is that they were built centuries ago, back when magic and divine powers were much stronger. And they were enchanted with the strongest magics possible. I dare not even guess how these magics have work after the centuries."
Gruntor nods sagely like he knows what is going on."Thems are smart with the wordings. Books have words that know stuffs, that can kill humies. Crazy humie told us so." He then leans in slightly to whisper to Shun..
Leesha nods slowly to the centurion's explanation, a thoughtful expression on her face as the Captain spouts his excitement.
"Tomorrow. We will meet at the entrance? And, as this is a mission of some urgency, will we be lent mounts?"
Regardless of the answers Leesha will nod to the centurion before heading off to wherever it is she is currently staying without another word to the group. When she is a few dozen steps away from the party a large raven flaps down and lands on her shoulder.

Leesha comes out, bringing the Captain, and addresses the group,
"Nothing."
She says with disgust.
To the firebolg and one of the bugbears, they all look the same to her so she doesn't bother specifying one, she continues,
"I don't know of any location nearby with records old enough to contain the information you think is in them."
She pauses and scoffs before pointing vaguely to a nearby peak,
"Except a dragon's hoard right over there. Maybe we can go ask it if we can check."
((Did the records mention the color, age and size of the dragon?))

"The Narancala is not really a bird. Is fire."
The bird on the firbolg's shoulder takes a bit of the berry and flutters over to Shun, landing on him and extending the food to the Sweet-Ums.

She waves her comment off in frustration,
"Please point the way."

"Better than the dragon option. Let's go before the humans come crawling in."
"We will set out tomorrow at dawn, so you have this evening to prepare."
"What would you suggest we prepare for?"
"Travel. Ever leave the city? Sleep under the trees and stars? Don't worry, can keep warm."
The firbolg pauses, realizing the connotation that might be inferred, and lights up his left hand. "With fire."

Leesha looks scornfully over at the firebolg,
"I wager I have traveled more of this island than you. No, at the archives. Traps. Guardians. What is the hazard?"
Gruntor in his happiness to see cousin Shun is a little confused. "We go to read books and they is dangerous?"
"No need to travel island, live in forest. Archives?", he shrugs and looks to the centurion.
