The firbolg steps back and remarks in common, "We can get the army a until of ogres. All we have to do is take out a hill giant named Big Maw."

"Nasaar shrugs. "rather fight one big one rather than many. Can you get them to lead us there?"

How are you all proceeding?

With a rousing endorsement for Operation Giant Coup, the firbolg turns back to the ogres. 

"We get rid of Big Maw, then ogres help army against humans. Is there ogre leader? Where is Big Maw now?"

"Big Maw in camp. With army. Orders others to attack hobgoblins. Ogre leader eaten by Big Maw. New leader scared of Big Maw and listen to order."

"New leader want to lead if Big Maw gone? Don't want to fight strong ogres and Big Maw. Ogres not fight Big Maw? Also not fight us?"

"Leader name Fistsmash. Don't know what he think. If big guy not close to ogre to command, we not fight. If hobgoblin strong, and big guy not close, ogre not fight if hobgoblin not kill. Parlay and surrender.""

Nasaar rolls his eyes. He is tempted to simply shoot the brute and find another ogre to talk with, but figures this one might be smarter than the next one, which isn't saying much. He holds back his impulse and waits to see what the plan is. He is ready to move on to the ogre camp once details are hashed out.

Gruntor has walked out of his hiding spot calmly to stand near his ally while he talks to the ogres.  "Maybe we should get big maw alone first, and smash him good"

Ogres look at Gruntor in astonishment

"That so cunning! Never thought of that! Very smart bear."

Turning to Firebolg:

"Hobgoblin fort close. But they shoot at us. You tell others stop battle?"

"Battle is happening now? If ogres led by Fistsmash and not Big Maw, we tell hobgoblins ogres on our team. Fight humans!"

"Maybe tell Big Maw there is food that can't be carried back to him, get him to come out for it? Really good berries? Can promise him more?"

"Battle happening now"

"Is Big Maw at the battle, or is he making the ogres fight while he has snack?"

"We not know. Sometimes he fight, other time sit in camp and give order."

"Where is fight? Where is Fistsmash? You tell Fistsmash plan? No more Big Maw, lots of food for ogre tribes."

The firebolg will leave the berries with the ogres.

"Big Maw doesn't need to know."

He'll chat with his fellow squadmates. 

"Is this a bad idea? Be good if can get ogres on our side, worth the try, yes? Don't want to fight Big Maw and all ogres though..."

Ogres point to the direction you were going, towards the hobgoblin fort, before departing in a somewhat different direction.

"This good idea, as long as we gets Big Mouse alone.  giants are tough and mean"  Gruntur scratches his head in thought....but also looks confused.

"Seems like we are heading in the correct direction anyway." Nasaar says as he glances after the departing ogres. "hopefully they plan on staying away and not running back to report us to this hill giant first." He shrugs. "Best head on towards the fort though, as someone else may report us in if they spot us between here and there."
