Hey all, I'm pretty new to DnD, and I'm trying to build a character without the site-assisted creator. My character is a paladin, and I can learn Zone of Truth, but I can't find anywhere saying how to find the DC of the spell.
To clarify, the spell in the Player's Handbook and online says that an affected creature must make a charisma saving throw, but it doesn't say what the DC is. Do I have to calculate it myself? And if so, how do I calculate it?
Edit: I hate this so much, I found the part of the book where it explains it about 20 seconds after posting this, please somebody delete me from this plane of existence.
Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your paladin spells, since their power derives from the strength of your convictions. You use your Charisma whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a paladin spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
