So, in my game, gunpowder is a thing. The tech level is around the 1600s period with matchlock rifles and corned gunpowder.
One of my more...creative players wants to know if he can cast Unseen Servant, have it carry a suicide vest into a group of enemies and detonate it. I'm completely at a loss on what to say. On one hand, nothing in the rules says it can't be done, on the other, it's extremely prone to abuse if an invisible servant can carry a bomb, grenade, or suicide vest into combat and detonate it. If I go by fragmentation grenade rules, it's still a DC15 or 5d6 damage.
The limitation is the the 15ft speed and the 60ft maximum distance that the servant could move away from the caster. You can't get the servant to wander up to an enemy castle and demolish it, because you would have to slowly wander next to it - as well as survive the blast. You could give it a smaller grenade, but in combat the servant is just too unwieldy to be more effective than throwing the grenade yourself.
Hey folks.

Thoughts on this?
An Unseen Servant can move 15 feet at a time. You can throw a Grenade, Fragmentation 60 feet by itself. I don't think it's a huge balance issue.
Canto alla vita
alla sua bellezza
ad ogni sua ferita
ogni sua carezza!
I sing to life and to its tragic beauty
To pain and to strife, but all that dances through me
The rise and the fall, I've lived through it all!

Also unseen servants might be invisible, but objects they are carrying are not.
