So I've recently joined a new campaign, for which I am making my first druid. My DM emphasized the importance of the druid's proficiency with herbalism tools since the campaign is not going to allow for us to purchase potions and my druid is going to need to make them. But, even though the druid already has proficiency with herbalism, I'm wondering how to find or search for herbs to make these potions. Would it be similar to Forging for Food, and require a Wisdom(Survival) check, or would it lean more towards nature? Or would you need both?
I'm haven't been able to find any definitive answers, any help at all would be appreciated.
Potions of Healing can be crafted as a downtime activity, though you should ask your DM, as the rules for this are in the DMG (and are expanded on in Xanathar's Guide).
Within those rules, it is generally assumed that the herbs and ingredients required are either trivial, or require purchase (which is why it costs money to make them).
Again, it sounds like your DM has some specific ideas in mind, so it would be best to ask them how this all works in their campaign.
