It’s actually not that dwarves are special, they already have an under value of 25 ft although being medium size. This is to avoid crippling then even more.
If a powerful build race without 15+ STR wears a heavy armor, the only drawback will be a penalty movement — the same 25 ft that dwarves have.

Not quite.
"the armor reduces the wearer’s speed by 10 feet unless the wearer has a Strength score equal to or higher than the listed score."
Other creatures without the stength requirement and a base movement of 30', end up being able to move 20'.
Dwarves are immune to the penalty for wearing heavy armor without enough Strength? I don't remember that rule, and I can't seem to find it with a quick look-through of the relevant sections of the PHB. Where is that rule?

It’s hidden in the dwarf’s “Speed” trait.

Hey Everyone,
Just curious if im alone on this or if it was covered elsewhere
Dwarves are immune to the penalty for strength and heavy armor
Firbolgs, Goliaths and Orc get hit with a penalty for not having 15 strength when they can carry twice as much as a dwarf
Too small of a problem for them to cover or are dwarves that special? Thoughts?
