TL;DR: No, you generally need a spell slot to cast a spell, and quicken does not change that. [The few cases where a spell slot is not required would include feats that allow a 1/day casting of spells without expending a spell slot and the aberrant mind sorcerer psychic spells ability which allows them to cast specific spells with sorcery points instead of spell slots.]
All Quickened does is allow you to cast the spell as a bonus action at a cost of 2 sorcery points. It does not remove the requirement to have a spell slot to cast the spell.
"Quickened Spell:When you cast a spell that has a casting time of 1 action, you can spend 2 sorcery points to change the casting time to 1 bonus action for this casting."
Quickened takes effect "when you cast a spell", if that spell requires a spell slot then you need to provide the spell slot to cast the spell and quicken does not change that. It only changes the type of action needed to cast the spell.
So as David said no. Sorcerers have a tool to get spell slots back but that cost more Sorcerer points then a quicken spell. Quicken spell cost 2 sp and augments a spell you cast. nothing more. If you want another spell slot that cost more as seen here. https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/phb/sorcerer#FlexibleCasting.
Also right from the metamagic
You can use only one Metamagic option on a spell when you cast it, unless otherwise noted.
Both Quicken and the Metamagic you still have to cast the spell, With out spell slots you cant cast magic.
Also for more info too
Spell Slots
The Sorcerer table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your sorcerer spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these sorcerer spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
So if you had zero spell slots left you cannot cast spells.
Sorry for the previous post brain went faster then my hands and then got lost somewhere.
No, all this info is helpfull. This is our first campaign so we're still tryting to get our head around the mechanics.
So to confirm, when I use Quickened Spell, to cast a spell as a BA, i will have to use up 2 SP and also the spell slot associated with the spell that i want to use?

Yes.
As mentioned in my other reply to you about this: metamagic does not replace your casting. So any other requirements of the spell, like spell slots, must be met/expended as well. Metamagic is not "a form of casting", it just changes a spell you are already casting (hence "meta" magic, meta means "change" - you're changing the spell as you cast).

Quickened Spell lets you change the casting time of a spell from 1 Action to 1 Bonus Action, for that one casting of the spell. That is ALL it does. It does not change any of the other rules for casting the spell.
It's important to remember, general rules always apply unless overridden by a specific rule. And the specific rule ONLY changes the things that it says it changes. A LOT of the mistakes new players make involve assuming rules do things, even though the rules don't say so.
