So I love the supplemental books that have the extra races in it! I have already planned a character of every race pretty much, most are fleshed out fully to just needing to roll on stats. Others are still WIP. What's your take on new races? I'd love to hear stories... what class? Do they get along with PC and NPC? Please share!!!!
Let's just talk in general!

Really big fan of the goliaths, so much fun to play a barbarian and just man handle things. I also really like the aasimar as well, I always think of the movie Dogma :)
Goliaths are always fun. Let's a player either dive into an easy Barbarian build or make up some interesting set-ups with other classes. I've heard of a Goliath Rogue who just litterally rips safes out of buildings and runs off into the night!
Firbolg are really awesome, strength/wis is an interesting stat combo that lets them perform as fighters, barbarians, druids, clerics and such, i like ogier from Wheel of Time, and I feel like they're so ripe for expansion in new and different settings. In my setting, they're the primary race for my polynesian/island folk and win out over goliath as my favorite psuedo-giant race.
I love the options that different races bring to the game. I have a number of other race options in my homebrew world. Specifically I have a Lizardfolk civilization that was the first race. I've used them since 3.5. When converting them to 5th Edition they actually turned out almost identically (mechanically) to the Lizardfolk from Volo's Guide. Culturally my Lizardfolk are Aztec/Mayan. They are a big part of the world and interact with the world accordingly.
I also use two Shifter subraces, Razorclaw (cat) and Beasthide (bear). They live in the arctic and are based on Inuit culture. The Razorclaw are Snow Leopards and the Beasthide are Polar bears.
I also use Aasimar and Tiefling as remnants of the War of the Gods in which the Deities and their armies ravaged the world and mingled with it. I treat the Aasimar as Deva from 4e though with long memories and reincarnation.

MAkes since being large that they could easily be barbarians! I might have to think of one as a back up character!
The concept of one being a rogue Is too funny. I can't imagine one sneaking around!

My third ever character I made is a Firbolg! When I saw them in Volos I fell in love with their look!!!! He grew up in a village of druids but didn't want to be a Druid because he longed for adventure. He still wanted to protect nature and everyone like the druids could so he is a fighter with battle master and protection! He uses his superiority dice to aide his friends.

Tabaxi Monk - Way of the Open Hand (or is it Paw? hee hee) - Unarmed attacks can either be bludgeoning or slashing (cat's claw) :D - Feline Agility: your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns. - Mobil Feat: Your speed increases by 10 feet. When you use the Dash action, difficult terrain doesn’t cost you extra movement on that turn. When you make a melee attack against a creature, you don’t provoke opportunity attacks from that creature for the rest of the turn, whether you hit or not.
A third vote for tabaxi. I have a tabaxi cleric of Savras queued up for my next game, as an itinerant advisor and fortune teller. Contemplating a dip in monk for combat purposes, because flying cat is awesome, but I'm worried it might distract from the flavor.

Kerrigan, gold dragonborn pact of the chain fiend warlock (8)/favored soul sorcerer (3): Survived Strahd Roland Crowe, stout halfling pirate (7): off working other angles while the party fights giants Alekhine Dorvanellyn, eladrin bladesinger (7): Fighting giants
No love for Yuan-Ti? I guess you didn't include any of the monstrous adventurers. I've loved the concept of snake people since I bought my first Magic the Gathering deck in the Kamigawa block.
For what you have listed though, probably Triton. I really like that regal, Atlantean feel to them.

Unfortunately I didn't add them into the Poll! But we can still talk about any playable race here!! The Kamigawa block was amazing! With the new Amonkhet set they have really bolstered the "Naga" in it so we have a lot more snake people lol.
Tritons and merfolk have always had a special place in my heart! I like how they are portrayed in the books, they have a good design.

Shoutout to anyone playing a Genesai! They are a great race and love the 4 differences in their birthright. Anybody play one or come across one? I would love to design a character for them but it's hard to choose between the 4 types.

I really like the water genasi, but it shows its potential in watered adventures. I think earth and fire genasi have the best racial traits. The former for rogue or ranger, the latter for wizard

We start a Planescape campaign within a few hours, and I have created a revised ranger/horizon walker air genasi for one of the other players. This guy does like the exotic and the bizarre, so a genasi who has been pretty much everywhere and to any plane was a perfect fit.

Currently playing a lizardfolk ranger (beast conclave). I'm really enjoying it thus far - especially the personality traits presented in Volo's Guide.

<Top two choices have the least votes>
O-okay...
That being said, I like when campaigns can make use of multiple forms of movement.
