Can you attack a creature you are currently grappling? I believe the answer is yes, but I'm not sure.

Yes.

The grappled condition has a few rules associated with it, but being unable to attack while suffering it is not one of them.

You can even attack a creature you're not grappling, as long as it's within your reach.
