The Bard's Magical Secrets feat says "Whenever you reach a Bard level (including this level) and the Prepared Spells number in the Bard Features table increases, you can choose any of your new prepared spells from the Bard, Cleric, Druid, and Wizard spell lists, and the chosen spells count as Bard spells for you (see a class’s section for its spell list)"
The Prepared Spells column applies only to Spells of Level 1+. Based on this, I understand that you cannot choose cantrips from the Cleric, Druid and Wizard list, only leveled spells.

Ok would agree you can choose any of your new prepared spells from the list. That doesn't include Cantrips.
I'm don't believe this is an error. It is likely the intended way it is supposed to work.
I don't understand. The text clearly states "You learn two spells of your choice. These spells can come from the Cleric, Druid, or Wizard spell list or any combination thereof (see a class’s section for its spell list). A spell you choose must be a cantrip or a spell for which you have spell slots, as shown in the Bard Features table. " EDIT: This is the LORE Bard's Magical Discoveries feature. You are all correct for 10th level Magical Secrets feature. Looks like Lore Bards can swap out cantrips at 6+ with any Cleric, Druid, or Wizard cantrip (but only the two gained by this feature)
That means cantrips are fine for secrets. But it is kind of a waste to use a potential 3rd level wizard or druid or cleric spell on a cantrip. It's even worse for a 5th level spell.
So the text reads choose / retrain “prepared spells” from Cleric, Druid & Wizard list…… cool.
My question is does this also apply to cantrips?
It did in 2014, but (without looking) it said Cantrips & Spells.
Would be great to hear from a developer….. & maybe consider correcting it in the 1st round of erratta?

That’s what I thought….. but I was hoping…..
& not like there aren’t other ways to get Cantrips (or DMs that might allow me to snag Cantrips as a house rule)
Not getting Cantrips is now the only thing I miss from the 2014 version.
Well... you have for example the Magic Initiate feat.
