I suppose this could be a question for either the 2014 or 2024 rule logic.
Is there any ruling regarding whether or not a character (specifically Warlock in this case) can cast a level spell, using a slot, and an "invocation spell" that allows you to cast a version of a leveled spell without burning a slot? For example, Otherworldly Leap letting you cast Jump without using a slot and, say, hex with a pact/spell slot?
Edit, realized Hex is a bad example because they both use bonus actions, I'm hoping y'all get what I'm asking though. How about "Charm Person"?
The rule is that you can cast only a single spell per turn with a spell slot. If you have a means of casting a spell without a spell slot, it does not count toward that limit, even if it’s level 1+.
