It depends on which type of aasimar you were using.
There is the aasimar from Volo's Guide to Monster, which has 3 sub-race, and all of them have Healing Hands.
The variant aasimar from DMG has no Healing Hands. If you were using this variant, Healing Hands should not be there (unless using a homebrew), so you did nothing wrong.
oh ok I was using a sub race but i guess not on the website because I didn't buy the digital version of the book... is there a way to put in a code in that says I own the physical book or do I have to buy a second copy?
can someone explain why or if its a mistake
The variant aasimar (example race from the DMG) has no healing hands trait.
sorry Im new to D&D is there a reason why it was there before because I had it on my character so did i do something wrong?

No, it is not possible to redeem a digital book with a hardcover purchase. You have to buy the source here.
However, it should be pretty easy to homebrew the race here. Starting from the variant aasimar, you can add any trait you like.
thank you for the help
