Off topic, but to answer you, i just learned instead of a STR/DEX save... you must now make an unarmed strike and hit, THEN do the str/dex save, to Grapple someone. This is a sensible and pretty important change.

This is not correct. Grappling is now one of three types of unarmed strikes, the others being pushing and dealing damage. Of these, only the damage one requires you to make an attack and hit. The others require the target to make a saving throw, with no attack roll required.

The 2014 PH in chapter 9 moving around other creatures, any creature counts as difficult terrain.
The 2024 PH in chapter 1 after creature size it says the exception is moving though a tiny creature or an ally.
Is that an intentional rule change?
I think it's safe to assume that it's intentional, yes.
