Oh... well, apart from increasing one ability score of your choice by 2 (INT in your example), the creature gains two benefits:
- Improve Fate (Boon of Fate). The Dragon can't use this benefit again until it rolls Initiative or finishes a Short or Long Rest, so I guess it's not super useful if the Dragon doesn't survive to the encounter. - Blink Steps (Boon of Dimensional Travel)

An Ancient Red Dragon has INT score of 18, so the ability modifier is +4.
With the Boon of Fate feat, INT 19. The ability modifier is still +4.
With Boon of Dimensional Travel, INT 20. Now the modifier is +5. For reference, Ability Modifiers, or this magic:
