Opportunity attacks are exclusively made with melee weapon attacks, and War Caster does not change that. The feat just allows a choice between melee weapon attack and spell.
Assuming you have War Caster, you can cast somatic-only spells without the need of a free hand. With spells requiring material component, you still need the material/focus in one hand.

To be super clear, War Caster lets you perform S components with a hand that's holding a weapon or shield (which are the most common things that'll be occupying your hands during combat.) If both your hands are holding something else, like a torch, rope, or another creature, you're still going to need to let go of something.
Also keep in mind that enemies still provoke opportunity attacks from you while you're holding only a bow, because you can still choose to make an unarmed strike.

was making a druid/cleric with war caster feat that use scimitar as melee weapon and bow as ranged.
What i wonder does war caster trigger oppertunity attack when having a melee weapon and ranged weapon or only on melee weapon?
